The tiny gravel they had at site was a pain but it is better than mud. It got tracked in camper. And was soft so made ruts pulling in. Smaller place but very nice. I was the only camper when i stayed. The picnic table at my site was on a slab.

Honestly we came here because we were heading to Florida, along I-75 and needed a place to stop overnight at about this part of Georgia. This was not our destination. However we would return and make it a destination for a weekend with no second thoughts. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, bordering on breathtaking. Everything was clean and well kept, the camp host was friendly, the premium site was definitely premium. Not much vegetation to separate you from other campsites, but they are all angled for maximum views on the lake.

Stopped on our way to Florida. We loved this park. Very clean and beautiful views. We stayed on a peninsula and had it to ourselves. The restrooms and showers were very nice and clean. We will go back again!! Some traffic noise, but not that bad.

We spent 2 nights here and this park is amazing. Beautiful views, friendly hosts, quiet, clean and a true hidden gem. We had a premium site and were literally steps from Lake Juliette. Do yourself a favor and take a day to go have lunch at the Whistle Stop Cafe and explore the little town. Very unique town with lots of quirky little shops. Depending on the site you choose you could hear some road noise but it was nothing we felt was annoying.

Let's start with the Pros. Beautiful lake to admire, small campground approx. 37 sites. Our site was spacious. Bathhouse was clean. Was able to get partial satellite signal in my site. Close to I 75 would be perfect for one night stay if you were traveling. Our site was off grade so there was a partial fence around the picnic table and grill making it easy to enclose so the pup did not have to be on a lead.
Cons. It is located right next to a busy highway. Traffic noise is almost constant. The noise is not as bad in the early sites 1 - 15 but you still hear it. The park is only 60 acres there are no trails to hike or much to do unless you are going to fish or swim. It was a nice place to go and just unplug sitting next to the camper doing nothing. With the pandemic that's what we did. There is no gate at the entrance to the park, so it is open to the public at all hours of the night, unusual for a Georgia State park. It was a 4 hour drive for us, we wanted to try somewhere new. Will we come back probably not, if we did we would chose site 13, 14, or 15. Hopefully the noise would not be as bad. There are parks closer to home we would enjoy more.

Finally a place near Macon to swim, float, kayak & enjoy the water without gators lol. Haves stayed several times this summer and enjoyed each and every stay. Typically quiet park that’s well managed and cared for. The bathrooms are clean. No laundry facilities. All sites are W&E, no FHU. Dump station available. There’s Publix nearby on bass rd, maybe 10 min away. And a dollar store 5 min away. FYI did encounter sugar ants on some trips, come prepared just in case and be diligent with cleanliness to avoid invasions. Verizon cell improved with booster.

GA requires vehicle pass in State Parks. This added another $5 onto the nightly fee. This campground is not accepting walk-ups. Reservation only. Safe to say every site has the lake in its view and most sites are water front. We backed our 40' bus down the peninsula to site #31 so we could have privacy and so our door/awning could be facing the lake/fire ring rather than the road. We got a wonderful taste of GA hospitality from both of the camp hosts. Extra friendly and sweet. Site #28 is surrounded by water on both sides and arguably the most sought-after site- says the host. Alcohol is not allowed in public areas but ok in your own campsite. Campground is close knit and tight, slow maneuvering for big rigs. Not impossible stuff- just stuff that daylight helps with. We camped here after visiting the movie set location of the Whistle Stop Cafe in Fried Green Tomatoes just 8 miles away. See tripadvisor for that review.

18 is on the lake , a relatively easy back in. I think it would have been easier to come in from the other direction (East) but nobody around to tell us that. Site is fenced , elevated gravel. Sloped but not a problem for leveling our 29’ trailer. Seems as though all of the sites here are good. The road thru the campground may seem narrow if you have a giant rig.

The campground is not very big but it packs a punch when it comes to the comfort and surroundings. The host were very friendly and the place was ciren. There's really not a bad site in the campground. The pad sits up high from the shore of the lake, providing an excellent view. There are steps that lead down to the picnic table area and just a little bit further down toward the shore is a firepit, still providing an excellent view. Great sunsets! The pad is gravel and level with a wooden fence around the lake side part of the pad. There's water and electric but no sewer. A dump station is available. The restrooms were clean. The surrounding sites are little close to one another, but everyone kept to themselves and were quiet. The only negative thing about the experience was the car noise from the busy road leading to the campground. Nothing major though.
