Beautiful. Don’t let the location off the side of the road fool you, you may see 5 vehicles in 24 hours. This place is remote and beautiful and flat as a pancake. A perfect locale to visit the VLA or the Kelly Ghost Town. And a wicked fast Verizon signal to research your next adventure or stream your Roku.

Beware the winds of November as we got tired of being buffeted by 55 mph gusts and left after the second night.

Super convenient at the traffic circle in town. Free dump with water to rinse. The portable water is next to the ice machine. There is also free air fill up.

The dispersed camping area was mostly underwater. We parked our trailer in a turnaround. It was very quiet and pretty. The roads have a lot of overhanging branches. Probably best for rent and car campers.

The road in is wide and good even if it is unpaved. The sand on it is hard packed and easily navigated with our 25 foot trailer. There are several places to turn around at the end.

We camped at the end of one of the turn-outs off of 619. (40.9831330, -109.5420673) We were at the top of a steep bank. There are some sites that are at the water’s edge but most of those were gone by the time we arrived on a Friday afternoon in the summer.

Most of the places seem to be pretty level. The area was very well kept. No visible trash.

The night sky was amazing. It was almost totally dark, and the Milky Way was easily seen in the night sky.

There were other campers around, but people were fairly well spaced out for some privacy although still close enough in most places to hear muffled conversations and music as well as generators.

If you have a boat, you could easily access the water in some areas to put in. Our campsite was not good for a boat but easy to hike to the water’s edge with a paddle board.

The water was ice cold and very clear and clean.

Beautiful spot! Well worth the drive in!

How cool to just happen upon the world’s first International Dark Sky Sanctuary Campground! We saw it as we were driving back and doubled back. We were so glad we did!

It is small and it fills up fast. We rolled in at 1:30 pm and got the last RV site (I think there were 6) on the Wednesday we arrived. The tent camping eventually filled up the first night we were there (11/11/2020). The sites are close enough to hear your neighbor cough but everyone was respectful and kept the lights, etc., to a minimum.

We tilted our lawn chairs back and took in the cosmos on an exceptionally clear night. We could see Mars very clearly using only binoculars. We also could see Saturns’ rings and Jupiter was very bright. We were using the SkyView app and could even see satellites cruising by in the cosmos. We were on the verge of the start of the Leonides so we saw a few meteors streaking across the night sky. We were also fortunate in our timing as the moon didn’t rise until 4 am so that further aided our night sky viewing.

As far as facilities go, there are telescope pads if you have a telescope. There are also pit toilets. There are no trash cans so come prepared to pack in/pack out.

There are literally hundreds of boondocking opportunities in the area so if you don’t get to camp here, never fear. There are many more options in the area. And there really are no lights around for miles.

Don’t miss this gem of a place. The facilities are brand new. The owner is very nice and a great resource for things to do in this gorgeous area. The WiFi is super fast if you need to get work done. The laundry facilities were spotless and brand new.

As an added bonus, there are baby calves to pet, and the best ice cream in Utah!

Spacious campground designed for campers with boats. There is a very nice boat ramp and really pretty grounds to host a group as well spretty nature trails.

The grounds are pristine, and the bathrooms and showers are sparkling clean. There are pretty touches such as “fairy lights” that light the path to the facilities.

The staff is excellent and on top of things. Within 5 minutes of a camper leaving, there is someone there cleaning up the site. Our favorite camp hosts were Peggy and Dan. They were so knowledgeable, informative, helpful and sweet.

There is more space between sites than there usually is at a typical Michigan campground. Perhaps this is because the sites were built to accommodate boats.

There are so many things to do in this area. You could spend a month here and not run out of things to do.

It is flat and level. The sites are close together but you can fit any sized rig here. Or at least you can if you can if you are one of the first people in the campground in the afternoon.

No potable water. There is a pit toilet, tables and fire rings.

About half an hour to Lake Louise.

You can hear the road noise as well as the campers next to you INSIDE their camper bc the sites are so close together.

Free with a fill up, but be forewarned..... business was slow for him so the man who operates the RZR business adjacent to the parking lot harassed us for being in the way of his business.
