This place is the coolest lunch room in America, and slightly endangered, so worth seeing in the event they finally decide to shut it down.

It has a really awesome retro-futuristic feel to it, one that kind of gives you the impression that everyone thought they'd be living underground after the nuclear apocalypse. If you've played the game Fallout 3, you'll know what I mean.

They don't have much a selection here anymore, thanks in part to the heat from the fryers changing the geology of the cave, so you're stuck with some so-so sandwiches and bottled drinks. You're paying mostly for the novelty of eating underground though, so take a lot of photos and you'll have a neat story to share.

Super fun, regardless of whether you believe in the whole "vortex" thing or not. This is roadside attraction at its purest, and a great place to take kids, especially, because it always blows their minds.

Things appear to roll up hill, you can balance on a wall, and two people can exchange heights, as weird as that sounds. It really has to be experienced to appreciate how neat the place really is.

Taking in the beautiful northern Ohio countryside from a restored, vintage train car, is pretty incredible. The staff do a great job of providing a really fun, really relaxing ride, complete with dinner and history lessons if you want them.

The full trip takes around 3 hours, so if you have stir crazy kids who don't exactly enjoy sitting still, this might not be the event for you. On the other hand, if you like history and are looking for a way to unwind, a ride on the Cuyahoga Valley Railroad is an excellent choice.

Darien Lake is a great theme park, particularly if you like camping. They offer both RV camping and tent camping and you get discounted tickets to the park as well. Not a bad venue to see a show either.

They also offer a hilariously dated laser light show, if you're into getting stoned just like your parents used to.

Please don't stay here. Just don't. There's way better, way less corporate, and frankly, way less tacky hotels to stay in when you're in downtown Chicago. The Hard Rock is an overrated art deco nightmare.

Definitely a place worth killing some time, especially if you're looking to grab some international food. You also might have a bit of trouble in some of the shops, as a lot of the folks only speak limited English, so be prepared to do some pointing and miming.

Also, this is hands down the best place to come for Christmas dinner.

If you're into weird, esoteric books, you're going to love this place. It's not in it's same exact location, but it's the oldest occult bookstore in not just the state, but the country. They have more than books too, so even if you aren't into strange books about magic, it's worth a stop to actually see a place that actually stocks magical ingredients like animal parts and wands.

To echo what Dana said, they have a crazy back room where all the good stuff is. They do weekly meetup nights as well where you can meet others who are into the same stuff.

One of the newer hotels in town, and also one of the most corporate. As a result, it's pretty sterile. Not necessarily a bad thing if you want a place that's going to be consistent, but if you want some personality, head to the Towanda Motel just a mile or so down the road. They've also got a great Mexican joint in house!

Really neat battlefield that's worth checking out for anyone who is interested in history. The drive up to the park is particularly beautiful, and offers some really great views of the hills and valleys in lower New York. This place even offers camping, which most people forget, making it a prime spot to pitch a tent when other local parks are booked up.

It might seem weird to think that this wall in New York city would be considered a "hall of fame", but it's about a revered as a place can get when it comes to street art. Not only has it seen graffiti from some of the most prolific artists on the scene throughout the years, it's been the site of some of the biggest "graff wars" as well.

If you want to visit, the best time is during the summer when school isn't in session, otherwise you risk being turned away by some of the guards.
