Easy access and clear signage off of the main road. Plenty of space for big rigs. Potable water available.
$5 fee to dump, regardless of whether you're camping at the nearby campground or not.

We were heading back to Phoenix after a short trip and decided to stop here to both avoid arriving during rush hour traffic and to help break up the drive. No issues - relatively level where we parked (0.25in off level). There will be interstate sound, but it worked well in a pinch. If I needed to break up another drive or find a quick spot to rest, this is a good one.

Access is easy. Pull into the car area and head toward the left. Dump stations are adjacent to the uncovered gas pump area, allowing for taller rigs as well. Dump station is locked and requires $10 paid inside and the subsequent code to access make sure to set up for dumping before punching in the code! Otherwise you may get locked out after a minute or two. Convenient to access gas, wipers for windows, and dump all in one stop. Even though there's a spigot nearby, there's no running water, so you won't be able to flush your tank after dumping.

Cost $10 to dump, so seems they've increased their prices. Dump station is immediately adjacent to both propane refill and gas/diesel pumps (although at the time of review, the immediately adjacent pumps were doing 87 unleaded only. There are diesel pumps a short drive away.

We spent three days in December here as a basecamp for White Sands. Everything was what we expected, and the cost per night is just about right. It's a solid option, but we'll probably look for something a bit wilder the next time we're in town. I'd recommend this to anyone who needs full hookups, needs to stay close to town, or gets KOA discounts.

We'd be willing to camp here again because of the limited options in the area.

The sites were gravel spots in a large lot - with a lamp, table, grill, and cinder block wall for privacy from fellow campers.

Hosts who checked us in were super friendly and kind.

Why we booked: Seemed like the most solid spot for a quick stay close to Key West, which we were visiting mostly for Dry Tortugas NP.

Campground: Parking lot vibes. All the things you'd expect from a private campground in a super popular RV area: tight spots, gravel, well-run but unspectacular.

Quirks: Huge-ass iguana in the tree when we checked in. Adorable frog on our box when we left.

Site: Just barely squeezed a 27-ft trailer and heavy-duty truck in there. It's Tetris.

Nearby: Despite a Key West address, the campground is on Stock Island. A late night bike ride felt a little sketchy, and one night, a local friend we made at the bar insisted on driving us home because it wasn't a super safe place to wander around. FWIW, we had some great meals close to the campground.

Value: Yeah…probably fair. Not a lot of land to go around down there. Doesn't feel great for what you get, but that's the game.

Arrival was smooth and simple. "Airstreams go on 11," we were told—so that's where we ended up. Our site is backed by a fallow field that the sun rises over. Site is level, requiring no right/left at all, with minimal tree cover and shade.

No 50 amp service. I'd recommend the listing be changed. Our 30 amp got a little weak during the hottest days here, shutting off our AC a couple of times. If I had to guess, the grid couldn't quite take what all of us were pulling.

AT&T absolutely rips out here. You're right between two towers. I was able to make this my Starlink home cell while using portability, too.

Mostly working folks here, with a couple of families here and there. Haven't been woken up a single time by another camper leaving (we get up around 630am), nor has anyone come in late at night. It's quiet enough to hear the birds at dawn and dusk, though you do get some noise from the nearby interstate, which kills the "I'm out camping" vibe and makes you feel a bit like you're just parked somewhere.

We stayed here for access to Indiana Dunes (~30min drive), but nearby La Porte is a beautiful little town. The main drag has a cash-only barber, a beautiful county courthouse, great food and beer (shoutout to Bare Bones), and lots of kind folks. There are a few places that offer boat rentals for the lakes in town, if that's your thing.

Intimate campground in the middle of Canyonlands NP within walking distance of the best view in the park. Walk down the hill for sunrise or sunset for the nest lighting. 12 spots total, FF. No water fill or dump in the park - we ventured an hour out to Moab for those. Checkout is 10am, so if you're dying for a spot, I'd recommend parking down at the lookout or at the small lot at the entrance to the camping loop to see if someone heads out. Can also check their posts to see who may be leaving if you can scope in advance. Spot 1 is where we stayed, pull-thru, more than long enough for our rig. Ramada, picnic table, and grill/fire pit combo. Ramada poles are thick and strong enough to support a hammock too. We used this site as a basecamp for the park, and biked almost everywhere.

Six stars if we could. Not to be confused with the nearby private campground, which has full hookups and is much less interesting IMO.

We stayed on the southern edge of the campground and used Starlink with a pole for the internet we needed to keep our jobs. This would be possible at most sites, but some others in this outside ring had tall enough mesquite that you might have a bad time. Site was a little bit tight for our 27' trailer and full-size truck—we were definitely pushing the limits of what that part of the campground could accommodate.

It's the largest campground in the park, with a wonderful nature trail nearby. In a few minutes, you can walk from your campsite, through reeds, into the desert, and out to the Rio Grande. Birds abound. You'll see coyote and, if you're up late, javelina.

We'll be coming back for sure, but also want to check out Cottonwood next time.

(FYI, we stayed in December 2022)

Why we booked: It was either this or a private campground that's closer to the city but an RV parking lot that costs 4x.

Campground: Run down at best. Place needs some serious love, especially the asphalt.

Quirks: It's a good little drive into the campground. It's also CRAZY dark at night, so your choices are blasting lights and blinding campers or running over a possom.

Site: Meh.

Nearby: Riding bikes around the park was pretty sweet. Saw lots of birds and a few gators. The stroll around the campground was pretty okay, as well. But as soon as you leave the park, you're fighting traffic that's fighting veteran potholes.

Value: Probably fair.
