I'm sorry to say that the Headless Horseman Hayrides was almost a complete disappointment. The main reason is very simple: It's really not scary or entertaining at all, which I feel is the whole point of something like this. Good with little ones maybe but otherwise a bit of a let-down.

This place is really bad, apparently it used to be good so some old-timers speak highly of it but the place is dirty, the food is bad and the service is terrible. The she-crab soup tastes like crackers and the green beans seem like they'd been cooked for a week.

Good ole Belvie - not a fancy establishment but I go to Virginia Beach every summer for a 4th of July family reunion with 78 cousins and we've been staying at the Belvedere for as long as I can remember. They are very accommodating for such a large group, letting us have shrimp boils around the pool and everything. If all you need is a low-key hotel that's right on the beach and walking-distance from a lot of good restaurants, then consider the Belvedere a good choice!

Grand Central Station is really stunning, if you're lucky enough to catch a train from one of the 47 platforms (I think making it one of the largest in the world), you'll feel like you've stepped back in time. If you aren't catching a train, you should still stop in for a look at this ridiculously majestic building with a turquoise and gold ceiling. Tons of trains to all over the place leave from here, if you're up for a day trip I highly recommend catching a train up to the Dia Beacon Museum in Beacon, NY. It's a beautiful, 80 minute train ride and a great day-trip from the city. Catch any train upstate for that matter and enjoy the scenery!

There's also a food market inside selling tons of lunch options. It's pretty packed at lunchtime but I got some Vietnamese rolls (curried shrimp and blackened cod) for $3 each...and cheap meals in NY are hard to come by!

A really beautiful campus to visit on a nice day. In my opinion the best thing to do is rent bikes and ride along the Charles River from Boston proper out to the Harvard campus and soak it all in that way.

A wonderful little piece of the Appalachian South, well-put when summed up as "'Hungry Mother' does not describe a mom in need of a meal. Instead, it is part of a conversation: "I'm hungry, mother". The restaurant, as doting and caring as a Southern matriarch, brings you into her home, providing an escape from the world with the comfort of food."

Haven't been here since I was a kid but I remember the whole thing being totally stunning. I'd recommend spring or fall as the park is way less crowded and the weather is much nicer. Really cool as you can walk through and climb over a lot of the formations as well, makes you feel like a tiny little speck in the universe!

Very cool place to visit in NY if only for the architecture alone! It's just across the street from Central Park so to combine the two makes for an awesome afternoon. Exhibitions change frequently, the museum is closed on Thursdays and Saturday nights you can "pay what you wish" rather than the standard $22 adult ticket. I usually avoid expensive museums but the Guggenheim is really worth it. I recommend taking the elevator all the way up and then working your way down the spiral ramp to look at all the artwork.

Waaaaay cooler than the Upper Basin, this is where we definitely saw some of the most stunning springs and pools that glowed crazy colors of blue, orange, pink, green. I found the lower basin to be one of the major highlights of my entire trip through Yellowstone and the Tetons. We went right before sunset which serendipitously turned out to be amazing, the crazy colors the sky turns next to these pools...wow. Definitely make some time to go visit.
