We looked through the town for the cornstalk and were unable to locate it and after stopping at a local restaurant (Mr B's Cafe) and asking about the cornstalk, we found out that the cornstalk has been removed.
We booked the campgrounds at Dixon Springs because they allowed dogs. This was over Memorial Day weekend, so we expected that there would be a decent number of people camping, but the place was pretty empty. We ended up having booked at the primitive campsites (no water/electric), which was fine except we didn't realize that we wouldn't be able to park next to the site. Not a big deal. The biggest upset was finding there was no shower house open regularly on the property. The pool house offered use of the showers which were dicey (women's shower lacked shower curtains on several stalls and only two shower heads were working, and also had no hot water), but the pool was only open from 1130-530. And closed early with no notice on one of the days we were there.
We loved the museum, tour, and bat. Lousiville is a great littel city.
Could not find this.
Atlanta, IL was a great stop.
This was a great stop that was surprisingly moving. A local photographer told us that this year the ashes of the fallen soldiers depicted on the rock were mixed with the paint. Excellent artistry and moving tribute.
We visited with ages 15, 9, 7, and 4. We were a little tired from the road but this was not our favorite stop. The kids just weren't as into it as I thought they'd be.
Not sure how we couldn't see a 55 foot tall giant, but it took us a few minutes. Nice spot to stretch and walk around
We loved the pink elephant and that we could climb on its trunk for pictures!
