We arrived in the afternoon for an overnight stop in late November. We texted ahead and the resort manager met us at the office. Check in was smooth. The park is close to the highway so we opted for a site in the back. The spots are all gravel, yet fairly level. Lots of full-time residences but it was quiet. Lots of parked campers in the back. The place is an RV dealer as well, and has a decent parts department. I’d stay again for another overnighter if I come this way. It seemed a little trashy in the back, but not bad for the price.

Military or qualified vets only. Every post commander has their own rules so know before you arrive. Their rules are I arrived past dark. It took a little time to get through the gate but it was fine. It was Thanksgiving week so the campground was empty. It’s used for a deer hunt camp so things were set up for hunters. Everything worked fine even though it was old. Beautiful spot on the lake with no noise except for the train every now and then. Only $15, but $10.50 with a military park pass.

Looked into the park to book. Google reports that it’s permanently closed.

We booked ahead and stopped for the night. It’s basically a gravel lot with hookups and a campground, but it’s quiet with no traffic noise. There’s a diner next to it with burgers and fried food. Includes free laundry machines 24/7. The lot has a grain hopper business in the back. Not a lot to do in town.

It’s an okay place for an overnight stopover. Full hookups, the pads were narrow. The casino is across the street. Old town Vicksburg is just a little further down Washington Ave. Not bad for the price.

Located down a hilly gravel road (big RVs be careful). Small campground with water+elec. We booked for mid October with some friends (4 campers) and we had the whole campground to ourselves. The main season is when people floating the nearby Black River stay. The campground is a little run down and there really aren’t pads to park on, but most of the sites are flat. Outside firewood is not allowed. I’m told there’s a “small fee” to use the dump station. There’s a pirate ship play area for kids. NO road noise. It was considered off-season so the owner was on call (you could text) and their store was closed. Lesterville and Johnson Shut-Ins St. Park are nearby.

This campground has a lot of new sites added this year, plus a lot of other nice features! It’s situated on a wooded hillside. The new section only opened recently and some of the sites aren’t very level. The older sites are absolutely beautiful. Good thing I had a floor jack to help get my wheels up on blocks. I’d still definitely return.

I can’t complain because I got to stay here free, but the hookups are setup kind of weird. We stayed in Phase 2. Basically, you find a vacant site and set up. It’s right next to Branson, so everything is just a few minutes away. The staff is friendly and the facilities are clean. My son-in-law set up next to me and his water/electric were on the wrong side. Sites are mostly back-in only. Regular security 24/7. Membership didn’t seem too costly if Branson’s your thing.

We are staying the week of Thanksgiving with family here. The staff is nice, the showers are HOT, lots of pressure, clean, and spacious. Water pressure at hookups is great. The electric is both 30 and 50 amp w/ 20 amp. Live oaks are beautiful. There are lots of deer, gray foxes, and other wildlife roaming the site. A very nice USACE park overall. The only minus- when they say check in at 3:00pm, they mean it! Also, you can leave at anytime, but you can’t reenter between 9pm and 9am, so plan your outings accordingly. The sites are very spacious overall.

We stayed during the T-Day holiday in late November. Many of the sites are unpaved, some are unlevel, many are paved or partially paved. There are lots of trails to explore, but some are still closed due to hurricane damage years ago. The brush between the campsites makes them feel more secluded. It’s fairly close to town and close to a NAS so the Blue Angels fly over!
