We pulled in about 5pm on a Thursday and may have got the last decent spot. The river is still raging from winter melt in mid-July. Too fast to fish:(

We had a nice pull through spot toward the back of the park. Quiet and nice views. We stayed at the "Fancy" park down the road last year and were disappointed. This place is a good home base. Wished they had tables at each spot. They did have a community area, but no one used it. Bathrooms are at the very front and one stall for the whole place (not very useful).
Young couple now own the place and they are working to improve the place.

We stayed at this dirt lot on Memorial Day weekend. Numerous permanent residents. We maneuvered under one of the few trees. It was so hot we couldn't get outside until after 7pm. Not the parks fault, but more trees would help.Single bathroom with shower. Everything worked. We'll stay at the City soccer fields next visit. Socorro has some interesting sites - Bosque Del Apache (best November- January), VLA, NM Tech.

Stayed December 5, 2020 - Decent, not fancy place with hookups close to the Visitor Center. Nice to have hookups in the winter. We woke up early and took our rig to watch the Cranes/Snow Geese at sunrise. Great to have your rig to stay warm and cook breakfast while the birds are getting active.

We just stayed one night before a triathlon. Everything worked and was clean. Very little shade. People seemed to enjoy the BBQ restaurant onsite (we're vegan, so we didn't try. Santa Rosa was a nice surprise as a water destination - Blue Hole, inflatable water park in one of the lakes. It is the City of Lakes (in the middle of the NM Desert).

We had a great pandemic visit. Lots of unofficial spots. Not suitable for large rigs or low clearance vehicles! Rough rutted entry road. 30 minute hike down to the river and 45 minutes back up (very steep). Very special place

Nice National Forest campground. No hookups, but clean level sites with tables, fire ring and bbq. Nice spacing, tall ponderosa , small creek and clean pit toilets. Campground host, Dillion, was super nice and helpful. He took pride in his work. We stayed in the back loop where generators were not allowed.

We have stayed here a couple of times 2017 & July 2020. Very nice hosts. Showers are great great with fun woodwork (see photos). Welcome retreat after boon docking. Wish the WiFi was a little better, but always have the same wish. Nice spot to fish or take a day trip to Telluride.
