Hey, y'all! I'm a Texas girl living in Alaska (for the moment). There is nothing better in the world than a full tank of gas and my dog, Ruby, sitting shotgun.

This place gets PACKED! They let all the little kids sit on the ground closest to the red carpet, but I snuck down there, too... I'm not such a little kid anymore. The ducks are so cute!

For the adults, let your kids crawl up on the floor. You should sit back and have a mint julep- one of the Peabody's signature drinks and it's delicious! The bar snacks that come with it are good, too.

A bit pricey, but if you have Triple A, you can get a nice discount. And hey, John Stamos is your guide on the iPad!
If you have the money, I'd say go for it. Elvis is such an American icon and to walk through his house, you definitely get chills. To see each of the incredible rooms is a glimpse into his life, and it's worth it.
There are many stops along the tour, so if the weather isn't great, this is a good thing to do as it's mostly inside.

Make sure you find the free parking.
On a beautiful day, this is such a fun activity. If I lived here, I would probably be eating my lunch out here every day!
Beautiful views of the city from just about any spot on the bridge.

Retro lunchroom?! Underground?!
You HAVE to come on down to see this. There may not be the greatest of food offerings, but if you send a postcard, they'll stamp it with a "Mailed from 750 feet below ground" stamp! Worth it.

I drove past this place three times before finally seeing it. You can definitely tell a lot of people stop here, though.
If you have a few minutes to spare, it's worth a stop. There's something holy about this place, even though legend says that it's dedicated to a sinner.
I left a letter at El Tiradito myself, and while I may not believe in much, it felt better to offer up what was on my heart.

Sign can be hard to see, but it is worth searching for.
A very special and sacred spot- you are free to leave your own offerings, take a prayer walk, or just sit in silence.
There are trails throughout the space and numerous little altars.

Not even going to say too much about this...
You KNOW you have to stop here.

This is my favorite camping spot around the Grand Canyon. It is first come/first serve.
Once, I drove in even though it was full to ask about surrounding campsites, and the ranger on staff let me stay in the emergency/overflow spot- I could have kissed him!
If the campground is full, ask the old ranger with the white beard about the unmarked camping not even a mile down the road...it's a sweet spot.

Have been to the Grand Canyon three times, and have stopped here each time!
This place is one of the most perfect spots to watch the sunrise/sunset in the GC.
Cute little grocery store/cafe with anything you'd need.
This stop is right around the corner from the Desert View Campground- first come/first serve. Incredible, knowledgable staff working there.
There is a space where you can walk down past the wire fence for an unobstructed view. Doesn't get too tricky. Make sure you're wearing the right shoes.

I know you've seen pictures of this place... They don't do it justice!
The little hike up is well worth the view- just don't get too close to the edge!
I brought my dog with me and she made sure to let me know when we were too close.
Not a lot of shade along the way, so have a hat or sunscreen and plenty of water!
A must-see stop in the Grand Canyon/Page area!
