The dump station provided by the city of Silver Bay is donation only. If you use this dump station please leave a donation so this resource remains here for everyone in the future! The dump station is clean and easy to access. There’s a dirt lot to turn around in if your rig is too big to u-turn out of the dump station. Five stars, thank you to the city of Silver Bay!!

This is a five star little place. It’s super easy to get to from I-40. The people who run the place are friendly and helpful. Sites are wide and level. The park is surrounded by trees and brush, which cut down the freeway noise. There’s a small playground to entertain the little humans, and a nice path around the park to get the doggos some exercise before tossing them back in the truck for another day of driving. The park has a dinner delivery option (shrimp or catfish tonight) and a little c-store where we were able to pick up a six pack of beer. Park wifi is slow (0.7 down, 0.5 up), but thats the norm at RV parks, so we bring our own as we both work remote. Without an antenna or booster the AT&T hotspot device got 22 up, 17 down, latency 74. iPhone on Verizon 4G 12 up, 3.5 down, latency 76.

This is a great RV park. Full hook ups, level site, lots of space between sites, nice clean bathrooms and showers, and right off 54. Perfect!

Homewood RV is nice, small park. It’s just off I-35, so there is a bit of road noise. Depending on the season, the surrounding trees help cut down that noise. The overnight/short term sites are mostly level and have full hook ups. The owners are really nice and helpful. Overall it’s a nice spot to stop for a night or two.

Wallace State Park is close to I-35 but a world away. The dense trees and brush provide a good amount of sound dampening. The sites in campground 2 are big and spaced nicely. Tons of green space between you and your neighbor. The shower house and bathrooms are clean and very nice. One word of caution - while walking the dogs we noticed site 48 has a steep grade at the entrance and it’s washed out where the pavement ends and the gravel site begins, making for a drop off of a couple inches.

A few hours prior to arrival we called to confirm availability and we were told they had plenty of empty sites with 30 amp service and water (no sewer). No problem for us. We arrived a bit before 8pm and were greeted with a lot of large signage indicating to stop and complete after hours check in. Easy enough. The front of the park was fairly full, but out back there were a lot of empty back in and pull through sites. We picked a pull through at the far back in a dark and quiet corner. The owner did drive by when we were setting up and asked if we’d checked in, and all was good. Its a clean and quiet park. The park WiFi didn’t work at our site in the back corner, but our AT&T hotspot picked up a lightning fast data connection. I’m sure we will be stopping here whenever we need a good night sleep in this area.
