This is an easy place to stay off the interstate. We stayed on the east side where there is only a shelter with a couple of picnic tables. The west side has a bathroom of unknown condition. The roads are gravel to within a couple of miles but they were fairly smooth and easy to navigate. There were a couple of other campers throughout the area but plenty of room to be alone.

Close enough to the interstate but far enough to be quiet and peaceful. Campground is older and a little neglected. Most sites are not very level. However, it wasn’t crowded and the park is beautiful.

The whole place was in disrepair. About half of the washers at the laundromat were broken. Trash and litter everywhere. It looks like it used to be a really nice place but not now.

We stayed here passing through on a Thursday night. The campground was about half-full. Our site was next to the public beach, but it hadn’t opened for the season yet. The site was clean and tidy, and the view of the river was gorgeous at sunset. An occasional boat with loud exhaust went by before dark, but no other distractions besides that. The campground was nestled in the trees and made for a relaxing setting. I would definitely stay there again.

We booked this location because the local public campgrounds were full. Spaces are close to each other. Picnic table and fire ring are missing at out site. We prefer public campgrounds to private parks like this. They are cheaper and nicer.

The park is located down a long, wooded road on the edge of a beautiful lake. Campsites are adequately spaced apart giving a fair amount of privacy. The bathrooms seem to be clean and tidy, although we didn’t actually use them except to drop off some trash. Very quiet and peaceful with the exception of a few passing boats from the nearby boat ramp.

The campsites were nice. They clouded full hookups, a picnic table and fire ring. The area was clean and surroundings wooded. Neighboring camping spots were adequately spaced. There were lots of areas for kids to play, including a large playground, a baseball/kickball field and hiking/biking trails.
One big problem, however, was the location of trash dumpsters and cans. There were NO TRASH CANS in the camping area, and the few that were somewhat nearby had signs saying to take your trash to the end of the park road, which was a mile away. This was a problem because we had already hooked up our RV and couldn’t jump in and run the trash that far. Needless to say, whoever maintains the park is being a little lazy and doesn’t want to bother handling trash. Other than that, it was a fairly well maintained park.

Located in the city park, there are a few tent camping spots and about RV 15 camping spots, some with electric hookups. Water and dump stations are nearby. Individual sites are reasonably maintained but could use a little mowing and leveling. Dumpsters were available near all of the sites, which was nice. The park included a nice little miniature golf course, tennis courts, a skateboard park, pavilions, a small amphitheater and playground equipment. There were also public bathrooms that looked kept up on the outside, but we didn’t look inside. Also, the train tracks are very close, so expect a train or two during the night. Overall, a nice place to stay.
