New, level concrete spots, full hook ups. Some sites are longer than others, check the satellite view if you have a big rig. The park itself is nice and quiet, at least during the winter. It is sort of on the flight path to DFW airport, so you get the occasional plane. Peaceful during the winter, I’m guessing it’s busy in the summer. The access road is sort of twisty and up and down, don’t let it fool you. The landing spot is well worth it.

We stayed in the winter, obviously, highs in the 60s, nice enough to sit outside in the afternoon, lows to 30. Quiet with plenty of room between sites, paved and level, water and electric only. It a lot of tree cover, probably pretty hot during the summer. A big off leash dog park, lots of hiking trails.

Paved, level sites, water and electric only. Nice and quiet in the winter, probably more day use in the summer. Not a lot of tree cover, probably hot in the summer, 60’s down to 30 in February. Large off leash dog park, lots of hiking trails. Good space between sites, each has a covered picnic table. Easy access off I-10, 30 minutes north off the freeway.

The Dalton Highway is a challenge. You will take some damage, whether it’s just stuff shaking loose, crushing something in a pot hole, pr a rock in a window. You need to watch ahead and behind constantly, move over for trucks. Plan on averaging 20-30 miles an hour, it takes all day to go from Fairbanks to the Arctic Circle. We also waited an hour or so for one way traffic through some work zones. We had to four wheel drive in some of the wet/muddy construction areas, and up some of the hills. Dry camping at the campground. That said, it’s a unique, once in a lifetime experience.

We stayed for a week, the park was about 1/4 full. Yes it was March, yes it snowed, I’m guessing guessing they are a little more busy in the summer. Level paved spots, surrounded by mountains, wi-fi was consistent and strong. Super friendly hosts at check in, clean facilities.
