Bring your levelers! There's not a flat spot in the place. The cell service is strong for Zoom, and all the coding that needs to get done. Make your reservation online. You won't find a tall rig in the place, as the train trussle isn't forgiving at 15 ft.

You are out of town, so this is not a great spot for first time campers, and there's no beach front parking. BUT - if you need to wear the kids out walking up and down the hill to get to the beach - this is the place for you. The staircase to get to the beach is a problem with anyone who uses wheels.

Think "Progressive Potluck" but rather in a campground format. There's the best hike/bike, tent, flat spots, group spots, dry camping, E/W, and E/W/S sites. The day-use area is well maintained. The renovated restrooms and premium sites showcase money well invested.

This is a great location for those who are on Amtrak and want to camp for a night or those with the 5th Wheels with 12 slideouts. One comes to this campground to showcase their rig and best campsite layouts.

The campground does have a party vibe to it in the summer. In the winter - not so much. Town is right there: grocery stores, restaurants.

If you are looking for a first time camping spot: here you go.

You only stay here because you spend the day at the beach. The highway noise is painful. The cell service is bad. And - if you have anything left outside overnight...chain it down a couple of different ways, so that your neighbor is robbed, not you.

The only thing nice thing about this place: the sunset photos. We've stayed here twice, one night each time. Each time I say: Never again.

There's Foster Mt and Foster Residence: If you are tent camping: stay at Foster Mt. Foster Residence has all the water, power, sewer (at most) sites. Both locations lack level pads, and there are ants...lots of ants.

In previous years, Foster Mt had horrible cell service. We stayed at Foster Residence in July and found excellent cell service (Att, Verizon, and Sprint).

This is a quick drive from San Buenaventura Beach, and you'll pass through many grocery and food options if you take the local roads. There were encampments near Foster, in the last 6 months - all that's been cleared out.

This is our go-to space during the day. The cell service is great to get work done, the parking lot is often so empty that we put down some chairs, roll the shade, and enjoy the rest. Sure, there's highway noise, but with the right angle of the rig - you'll be fine.

There is absolutely no overnight parking here.

You'll see other full-timers who spend their days here, you'll see slides out. And, everyone clears out by the end of the day. The restrooms are clean, the Jolly Oyster is worth the money.

Reserve online, don't chance it.
As this campground continues to be washed into the ocean, this is an excellent spot for dry camping. Unfortunately - #trailerlife rules this place, and suburbians bring all their "Camp Hair Don't Care" fencing and turf to their sites.

Upside: excellent cell service, often last-minute reservations are avilable. This is close to Ventura, so you'll meet a lot of locals. Excellent beginner surfing and BB opportunities.

Packed in tight tight tight. You are coming here for the beach and nothing else. The sites are small, and all of us are at the mercy with how good the neighbors are (or mostly are NOT) able to manhandle their trailers into these tight spots. This is not a good first time place for new trailer owners. Let this place be your just reward for once you've learned how to park your trailer into tight spots. (and, no - Darrell - we don't think Jan can hear you yelling at her to turn the other left).

The cell service is good for a Teams call and streaming services. We were able to work, and the kid did her zoom class. The downside was the amount of competitive cornhole taking place up until about 1am.

Clearly - this is where the locals come to blow off steam from being packed in, in the suburbs - and come to play Santaria on insane repeat.

Coming back when I want to just lay in the waves.

One overnight, that'll'do.
We arrived at about 9p (LA traffic is no joke), and the friendly park attendent provided very detailed information to get to the site. There's not a bad site. Our site had electricity and water. The campground is very clean, and quiet on the weeknights. Lots of #vanlife folks, so during the workday - you are going to hear people on their work calls.

Like me... I had great cell service for my Teams meetings, email, and website activity.

There's absolutely no shade. Bring your pop-ups, sunblock, and all the solar charging you've got.

Close to Irvine, town, and all the comforts of the city.

Second review: there are updates!
The campground has excellent cell service, and is great for those who need internet to work (videos calls, streaming videos). The campground has been getting the much needed refresh (site numbers boldly numbered, fresh mulch). The playground is outdated, and as GenX: Those metal playgrounds are priceless.

There's a full range of sites here: dry, water/electricity, and full. Close to Filmore, 30 min drive to another quiet beach.

The local police dept will do the occasional drive thru, so don't plan on hiding out as you evade arrest. Site manager is on their game, friendly, and not to be messed with. They can smell you blocking the fire exit from 20 yards. I'm a fan.

The red flag: Full hookups at all the sites - and last minute availability. We found out why: No Cell Service. The campground is immaculate, the playground is great for the under-teen set. The next door archery range looks like a great opportunity. If we didn't need the cell service, this would be a great place to stay. Close to town, so you'll see older folks staying here to visit their family who live in Simi Valley. Do not plan on hosting a rager here,
