Great overnight stay! Host was very accommodating. Spot is level, no problem to get into and out of with our 35 ft 5th wheel. Easy interstate highway on/off access but far enough away from the highway noise. We used the water and 50 amp hookups for the $20 fee as Harvest Host members. (May be different for non members) Campendium list it as having sewer access but the site does not have it. The Red River Steakhouse (Open Tuesday thru Saturday) is next to the Inn and is a good dinner option with fast, friendly service, tasty menu options and reasonable prices.

This place is a good base camp if you intend to visit both the North and South units of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. 36 miles to the North Unit and 33 to the South Unit in Medora. Most of the sites are not level and they are all gravel except for two or three which are grass. Just off of Hwy 85 but traffic drops off around 9 pm and picks back up around 6 am. We slept with the windows closed and slept fine. Cash or check only at the time of this review. We’re in a 35 ft 5th wheeler. Several big rig pull thru spots. Use Google maps to get a good look at the park.

Camp hosts were knowledgeable and helpful. Vault toilets were spotless and cleaned multiple times a day. Electricity is advertised as 15 amp but the two sites (22 and 18) we stayed in had 30 amp service. Water available from spigots. NO ATT cell service. We had to drive 5+ miles back towards Colo City to get service. Great views of the lake. The hosts said bears were in the area but we never saw signs of them. Lake is stocked twice a year and the locals turn out on the weekend to fish. Lots of picnic spots in the park and a lovely small stream that feeds the lake is a short walk from the campground. Bishop’s Castle (google it) is a few miles down the road and is free to visit. This is a high elevation park so drink plenty of water and give your body time to acclimate.

We overnighted here on our way from NM to Dallas. 4 miles off the interstate, it was a quiet spot to stay. Plenty of space between sites and plenty of pull throws so you don’t have to unhook. 30/50 amp and water at each site that had connections. Dump is next to the stone bathrooms close to the entrance. Park is laid out a little odd but if you take a quick look around you’ll be able to tell where the individual sites are. Nice gentleman came by around 9 am the next morning and collected our $15. There were 4 other rigs in the park but we were the only overnighters. We stayed in a 36 ft 5th wheel in late August. Definitely would stay again.

Overall we enjoyed our time here. Quiet, good access to the water. Sites are narrow and bunched in groups of 2 and 3. Ours faced the woods but the site behind us faced the back of our rig. If you use the picnic table and fire ring, located behind the camp site, you’re just outside your neighbor’s front door. This is not true of all sites but a lot of them. Our site had 30 amp power. Bathhouse is directly across the road. It needs some serious cleaning and a new paint job. Water spigots are scattered around the park. There is a dump on the Wanaki Loop of the park. Regular rates are $30/night, $15 with our Senior Lifetime Pass.

35 ft 5th wheel
Campendium comes thru again. Easy access off I15 and close to Hwy 2. Sites have plenty of room between them and almost all can handle big rigs. Most back in sites are level. The pull thrus look like they would need some leveling to work. Our site had 30 amp and 20 amp service. Water spigots are scattered around the campground. Quiet with only 6 other campers in the CG. Men’s bathroom is old but it was clean and the shower was hot with good pressure. Nice touch is the sprinkler system. The grass is green and lush. Would definitely stay here again when passing through.
ATT was just 3 bars but very fast.

Hard to beat a COE campground. Spacious, paved sites. Most are level or close to level. Picnic table and fire ring included. Bathhouse closest to the entrance is only a year old. 4 separate shower rooms on one end and bathrooms on the other. Very clean. Regular rate is $18/night, $9 with Lifetime Senior Pass. Potable water available inside the park and dump station just outside the entrance. Our site had 30 amp connection. Our ATT phones had good connectivity. Our Verizon Visable router said 5 bars but was slow. We’re in a 35 ft Fifth wheel.
