This campground is on KOA lane, so I'm guessing maybe it was a KOA in the past. The sites were close together, like at a KOA. We typically camp at a COE campground or a state park, and while Perryville Campground was not the same nature experience, it was very enjoyable.

The staff were very friendly. Check-in was easy. There is a nice store on the grounds. The restrooms were excellent. Stylish, and most importantly - spotlessly clean! At our site, it was easy to get our camper level. We arrived on Friday late afternoon, and there were 3 food trucks in the lot by the service road. An ice cream truck drove through Saturday afternoon. Saturday evening there was a rock/country music band in the pavilion.

Most enjoyable is a walking trail connection to the Perry County Community Lake which is a Missouri Department of Conservation area. There is a 4.4 mile trail around the lake which we did walk. Folks were fishing there as well.

While we didn't use these features, there was a small fishing lake at the campground. There was a very nice pool, bounce pad and playgrounds for the kiddos. The campground also offers some camping cabins which looked very charming.

A Super Walmart is 5 minutes down the road. While we could hear the highway noise, it was not disruptive to us. The town of Perryville is close by, but we did not visit anything there. The campground does offer wifi, but we did find it to be slow; however, it was the weekend, so I kind of expect that.

We very much enjoyed our stay here, and we would stay here again.

This park was wonderful! We camped at the Pine Grove campground and enjoyed the full hook-ups. The sites were spacious. We could hear the road, but just a tiny bit. Sea grape shrubs provided some privacy. There is lots to do in the park and the surrounding area. The restrooms were spotless, and I very much thank the volunteers. Staff at the park were friendly and helpful. We left on March 13th, just days before the campground closed for 60 days. My blog (www.chambersontheroad.com) provides lots of information about what we did in the park and the surrounding area. I have several posts related to this area. We would definitely stay there again.

We have visited this little summer town for many years; however, this is the first year we camped in the state park in our new 23 foot travel trailer. Campers are packed in like sardines in the campground, and there is sand everywhere, but this is probably pretty common for beach campgrounds. It was a challenge to get backed into the site; however, folks are happy to move their cars, if needed. The upside is the campground is very close to the Lake Michigan and beach area, and it is also very close to the charming town of Pentwater. You can walk or ride a bike almost everywhere.

There are no full hookups, but a pump out service from Ludington comes on Tuesday and Thursday. It costs $25 cash. We only needed to use this service once, and we were very glad it was offered. In addition, the campground hosts have 2 very, very long hoses that can be rolled to your site to fill up your potable water. This also was very convenient and appreciated. The shower house was clean. Even though the campground was full several nights, we never had to wait for a shower room.

While we miss full hookups, we would definitely camp here again as we love this area. Nothing beats a short walk to the beach in the early morning where one can sit watching the waves and seagulls. In the evening, you can't beat the magnificent sunsets while enjoying an ice cream cone.
