We love RIVER RUN! We’ve stayed here 3 times in the past 5 weeks. The location puts you right where all the beauty of Colorado can be explored. Easy drive to RMNP, Grand Lake, Lake Granby, Winter Park, Fraser, and all the great dirt roads in the area that lead to great hikes. The resort itself provides plenty of activities, it’s quiet at night and there is a security officer that patrols the grounds. We have a 31 ft. bumper pull with one slide out and we have had no problem getting into the back-in sites. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. No crowding at this resort, you have a large, clean campsite. Can’t wait to stay there when the fall colors start changing. Free WiFi or you can pay to upgrade.

We only stayed one night because it was on our way to our vacation in Yellowstone. We were very pleased with this campground and especially after our 4 night stay near Cody (terrible). We were looking forward to viewing the stars, Milky Way, and comet due to being away from city lights, we live near Denver and we don’t get to see many stars. The night sky was incredible, we saw EVERYTHING, even an International Space Station flyover. The bathrooms were clean, the water was hot, and there was always toilet paper. The two boys riding their bikes around were entertaining too. When we set up we leave a lot of stuff out when we go to bed and nothing was touched, definitely a bonus. Loved that there was grass, but bring bug spray, mosquitoes love water and grass. Our pull thru had plenty of room for a 31 ft travel trailer and RAM 1500.

After reading reviews on YELP I was worried this place would be terrible, but most of the bad reviews were old and about the rooms. We stayed in our Travel Trailer and apparently the angry old man isn’t there anymore. The good part was that we called a week before our stay and we actually got a spot, almost impossible from what I’ve heard about the Yellowstone area. That’s the only good news. I’ll start with the disgusting bathroom/showers. They were GROSS!! The sign says they are closed for cleaning everyday, THEY ARE NOT CLEANED EVERY DAY!! The same trash was on the floor, water everywhere, mold, globs of hair, footprints in the shower, overflowing trash can, and no toilet paper, every day. The smell of mold and the humidity in there was sickening. The laundry room wasn’t any better. The dumpster for trash was full when we got there, dumped the next day, and filled up almost immediately. It was overflowing when we left after being full for two days. Cell service is not good but that’s not their fault. I didn’t try their WIFI because I never log into hotel, store, restaurant, etc. WIFI. I can go on and on, but just go on YELP and you can read more. Location was good for us, it was between Cody and Yellowstone and that worked out fine.
