Expensive to go in and drive to the glacier, which when you get down to itis not much closer than when you were on the road for free. If you want to walk miles, you can walk on it, but in the end it is just ice.

Came down to Anchorage to see a moose as had no luck otherwise. Park has 2 that were in their shed. Nicely set out with a road you can drive round if you don't want to walk. Nice but not a real highlight for us.

Nice hotel, booked in for 6 nights only stayed for 3 as there was very little to do in Fairbanks. Limited food options and rental car rules cut out many reachable options such as the arctic circle etc.

Finally made it, last trip went up at night and it was fog bound, this time went up during the day and the view was lovely and clear. The roads up are very tight and congested with all of the university traffic and resident parking on the narrow streets. Glad we finally did it though

Called in to the markets, crazy busy. Strolled around for an hour or so, bought a metal art Seattle skyline for our daughter. Nice to be out of the car for a while although the market is a warren and not well signposted for two travel worn Aussies.

Went late in the afternoon, walked around although most of the animals were either not visible or not active. Took the last tour of the day, were the only people on board. Guide was informative, went to see a moose and only saw it's backside. Nicely set out although not inexpensive.

Highlight of our trip was calling in and meeting Dennis, Frances and Sprocket. A quick stop turned into nearly 3 hours as we talked and looked around. Came away with a pair of dogs and other bits. Would have loved to stay in the Beagle, but was booked out. Will definitely go back next trip. Two lovely people with a brilliant business. We are about to start building the hyperbolic parabola that so fascinated my husband.

Called in one morning, they only have one bear out at a time. When the staff member finally came out, it was handy to get some information as we were heading to Alaska to see bears as well. Would have been nice to see more bears and if the place was a bit bigger and more organized.

Went for the statue and ended up in the museum. Statue is impressive, more so than the museum which had limited exhibits.
