We didn't love the spot, it was too close to the highway and you could hear traffic, and the sites were not level. Even for tent camping.

Was a nice drive up and over the pass. Beautiful scenery all around you in the summer (when we went).

An absolute must do. We went in the summer of 2020. It was a tremendous time, the kids absolutely loved it, even grandpa went 1 time and enjoyed it (and he barely can swim). If you're in the area it's a must do. There is no cell reception once you leave the nearest town (30 min away), so plan accordingly. Bring bathing suits and a picnic so you can stay longer. The water is extremely cold though.

Beautiful drive in the summer time. We enjoyed walking in the shallow creek and seeing the history of the area. Fully recommend this as a short stop to stretch legs and have a picnic.

We loved this old bridge. A shallow creek to wade in was a great stop for the family. We love these old timey things we don't get out west and this was one of the best.

Stopped in summer of 2020, the moonshine was terrific, the smell as you walk up to the building was amazing. I bought the limit of what I could to take to friends and family.

A nice stop on the way north. Was good to teach the kids about the Revolutionary War and this quiet laid back setting was a good atmosphere to do so.

Honestly, a big disappointment. It was summer 2020 when we were there so Corona hysteria was at it's peak, but the hotel was dirty and gross. Very little was open and the indoor and on site pools felt disgusting to be around (not even counting the covid factor, which we weren't concerned with). The beach was tremendous and we spent all of our time there.

Beautiful campground just off the interstate, but very quiet and private. The falls were barely a trickle, but that meant we could go stand under them and enjoy our time. Kids caught crayfish in the stream and it was very private. We would highly recommend.

I was catching flak for driving 45 minutes out of our way to go see this, but it was a hit with all ages. Beautiful driving over it, and being able to walk down for some picturesque views was awesome. Highly recommend getting off the interstate on your way to it and seeing some of the old coal towns (and some still thriving) to get a true understanding of WV if you aren't local.
