Owner also owns the farm next door and you are free to walk around and check out the animals. Current bathhouse is ok and it’s heated with decent hot water. (They are in the process of finishing a new bathhouse)
Only possible downside for some would be the farm noise (dogs who bark at night and a rooster who crows before dawn). It didnt bother us and thought it was kind of neat.
Easy to find, the newly completed Foothills Parkway is right up the road, plus it’s only a 20 min drive to Pigeon Forge

After driving by some other parks on our way from Little River to either Gatlinburg or the National Park, we realized we picked a winner. The river front sites are tight for larger rigs but it can be done. The east side and mountain side can accommodate larger rigs with ease. We stayed on the river side and it was placid, (with the exception of some late night noise from some extremely discourteous neighbors.) Our site was perfectly level side to side and sloped slightly toward the river. Sun rise over the mountains are perfect. Their are two facilities houses, one older but well kept, the other is new and very nice.

Stayed there for two nights during the pandemic. Very quiet, nice and spacious camp ground. well leveled. Full hook up. We enjoyed the walk by the little river and the farm nearby. The only downside is wifi not stable. I know most people camping to stay away from business, but we need wifi to keep kids in remote learning. Will come again.

Our stay was great! The setting is clean quiet, and convenient to the National Park and other attractions. Very clean restrooms and very friendly, helpful staff. This was our first time in the area, and we want to come back so we drove around and checked out the other parks. It confirmed that Little River is the best. The other parks were so crowded with very tight spaces.

It’s a nice quiet campground. Not many frills but we don’t need many. Lots of shade. The lots are sparsely spread pea gravel. They could have more grass but the leaves made up for it. The back RV row has tons of room for you 40’ers and camping gear! The middle and river sites were a little tighter. They have pastures with sheep ,fallow deer, elk, llamas, miniature horses and elk with an asphalt trail going around them. Townsend has a completely level bike trail around the city along the River. And it’s a great town to stay in to plan your Smoky Mountain adventure.

Gravel sites with lots of big trees. About 75% of the park is not big rig friendly. I had a heck of a time getting into 106 with a 42ft 5th wheel. Wifi spotty at best, but they are working on it.

Full hook-ups and cable tv, backed up to about ten feet from the river. Gravel, with a concrete pad for the plastic picnic table. Courteous staff. Hayrides on the farm. Rooster for an alarm clock. Convenient access to Cades Cove, a must-see attraction. Rooster leads a parade of hens through the RVs around 9am every morning. Sites are close together and lots of mature trees make big-rig parking challenging at some sites.

The first woman who checked us in was very nice, and offered a lot of information about the town and attractions. After that it was all downhill. They don’t tell you ahead of time that there is an additional fee for paying with a charge card. They don’t accept checks, and only cash to avoid the fee. We were glad to be pretty much alone (at first) during the off season as with a full camp, RVs would be sandwiched n with tenters in your backyard! The problems began when we had two packages delivered to us during our stay. We let the office know when to expect each, but then the office closed and no one was ever there, and the phone number on the door went to a RV resident who seldom answered and never called back. It took them 4 days to notify us that the first package had been taken to the post office and we could pick it up there, and the second package was put on their back porch with again no phone to call us… we had to call to ask where our package was. Add to that the filth… open bags of garbage behind the farthest sites, the bathroom not being cleaned ( the garbage from the shower/bathroom was never emptied during our stay). The campground is not equipped for winter RVing: Our water connection froze at their faucet so we had to disconnect our water and sewer and put antifreeze in our system. And then our last night, their power pedestal failed leaving us without our heat source on a night that dipped into single digits. We thought to check our power cord early in that morning, and discovered the 20 amp was working just fine, so some heat but not enough to run everything we needed at once. Townsend itself is a charming small town, and the parks and areas to explore and hike are near enough to make for nice day outings which is why we rated it a two stars. If we come back this way however, we will be staying at a state park!!

We didn't love the spot, it was too close to the highway and you could hear traffic, and the sites were not level. Even for tent camping.
