It was hard to spot when we got off the exit, it shares an entrance with a Best Western. We passed it and drove far before a safe space to turn around. We asked and received permission to overnight with a smile. Had a nice dinner and spent the night. Some traffic noise from the highway and a delivery truck arrived about 5am.

No hookups but a free overnight stop which was easy in and out. Texas allows 24 hours at any rest area. Some road noise but very little traffic in rest area. It was nearly empty all night with us as the only RV. There's separate parking for cars, RVs, and trucks. FWIW a minimum security federal prison is behind the parking area.

Easy stop off I-10. Flat gravel lot with full hookups, WIFI, and cable. Price paid was Passport America and cash. There is an additional 50 cents for credit.

Quiet, peaceful, easy in and out with level parking. Before leaving have some apple pie from Apple Annie's Country Store.
It's very rustic with narrow dirt roads, but the sites are huge! The sites can handle large RVs, but some will require good skill to back into them due to trees and the narrow road. Good clean facilities with showers and flush toilets. A boat ramp is available in the picnic area. The campground seems to be well known because it is nearly full, although the sites have water and nothing else.

We stayed here on a very stormy night with high winds. In the morning a park employee did a welfare check on us and stated that a tornado hit Main Street and blew off roofs and broke windows. Even after experiencing a very rough and turbulent night we will be back again. The park is great, and the townspeople are even better. Although many businesses had severe damage a steady stream of folk came through the park and checked on us campers.

Price paid was with Ohio Golden Buckeye card. Parking pads and roads are asphalt. Sites are nice but maneuvering a larger rig can be difficult. The hiking trails in the park and surrounding areas are fantastic.

Nice ordinary restaurant. Really good soups and an above average salad bar. A good place for a relaxing meal.
