Can’t say enough good things about this park. Camp host was a great guy, gave me some good tips on local food. If you are a KOA or resort kind of camper, this is not for you. If you want a totally relaxing night surrounded by huge trees in a National Forest, welcome home. I stayed during the week, I was the only person at the entire campground. Did not use the showers or restrooms.

Quiet, out of the way state park. Sites were well spaced. Clean and level. Camp host was extremely helpful, brought firewood and ice to my site! Restrooms were clean and well maintained, grass was mowed and trimmed. There is a restaurant on site that I didn’t get to visit. I would absolutely recommend this campground.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to stay at this little park! Lot’s of room, well maintained sites. Easy to get to off I 10, gas stations with plenty of room for big rigs close by and plenty of restaurants within a few miles. If you are looking for a great Poboy go to Darrell’s in Lake Charles. Kudos to Calcasieu Parish for building and maintaining this beautiful park.

Nice campground, you have to make reservations online. Sketchy cellular service at cg, however the visitors center was much better. Sites were mostly level, spaced far enough apart to be quiet.

This park is well maintained, sites are well spaced. It is popular with the locals for a party spot. There were 3 families at a campsite close to the restrooms partying and playing their music. Luckily my spot was far enough away that it wasn’t a problem and all but one family left later in the evening. Make sure to bring cash, there is no one to provide change. Although my spot was a $12 spot I paid $20 because I didn’t have change. Despite a few small negatives I would return to this campground. Restrooms were clean, lake was nice, location was convenient.

Very confusing directions on Campendium. Led me to a picnic/day use area with no camping spots. I had to turn around and find the campground on a map. It was about 20 miles away. I chose a lake view site, in hindsight I would not do that again. It was a lot more crowded and noisy than the other loops. This is a huge state park, it was a good overnight stay.
