This is a well kept campground on Camp Ripley next to the Mississippi River. Lots of tall pine and oak trees. The bathroom- shower building is newer and clean. Sites have concrete pads, 50/30/20 electric, tables and a fire pit. Fire wood is provided. The only downside is road noise from Mn 371.

Lots of amenities - laundry room ($1.00 wash; $1.00 dry) had a commercial ice maker. Unisex bathrooms/showers were clean. Grounds well kept and has a dog park that used to be a ball field. Nice playgrounds for kids. Long concrete pads and most of the RV’s were large. Sites with shade appeared to be for long term. Some of the other sites had a metal sunshade over the picnic table; ours did not.
FamCamp currently is short staffed and the on-site office temporarily closed. Staff at on-base Outdoor Rec said phones often weren’t answered as emphasis was on serving walk-ins.
We look forward to staying here again as Maxwell AFB is now our daughter’s new duty station.

Traveling through The Panhandle on a memorial Weekend Saturday and all of the State Parks were full. We pulled off I-10 and there were still vacancies here. We were greeted by Jimbo, the Guest Host, who welcomed us and directed us to the self-pay kiosk. Self pay consisted of an envelope to fill out with credit card info or pay with cash or check.
I’m not sure how much the site was or how much tax was as the sign said $41.80 per night but did not bread it out.
The campground roads are rough but the site was fine. Nothing is modern but all worked fine. The pool looked clean and the bathroom was. The Bathroom is also getting a new paint job and there’s some fresh new sod between the building and the sidewalk.
We headed out shortly after sunup and will gladly return.

We left Albuquerque in the morning, took our time and arrived mid afternoon. Campground road was paved and steep. Loops are terraced for great views. Campground was close to full and day use area was busy. Happy to say encountered zero jerks. All campsites have bear lockers. There is no drinking water nor hookups. Vault toilets which were ok. Very close to Great Sands National Park which is well worth seeing. We would definitely stay here again.

We were going to stay at the Park Services’ Army Camp Campground but it doesn’t have electric and it was cold. So we decided to stay at Shady Rest RV Park. The reviews were good and the website was too.
It is conveniently located off I-64 down a scenic lane. The park is picturesque. Electric worked fine and we had heat.
The uni-sex bathroom/shower was disgusting. I do not know the last time it was cleaned but the cobwebs and dead insect in a spider web suggest not recently. It’s pretty obvious that if the West Virginia and/or County Health Departments inspect RV Parks, this one hasn’t been inspected recently as well.
If a bathroom is not needed as you’re traveling self contained, have at it.
If you need a bathroom and/or shower, I’d recommending skipping this one until it’s verified that a major renovation has been completed.
I wish we had skipped this RV Park.

There are two KOA’s in Ogallala - one is on the Interstate right next to a truck stop, and then there is this one!
Staff had our info ready for our late check-in on our way through Nebraska. We were paying the extra for a KOA because we wanted something clean and neat after staying at a State Park and then National Park campgrounds. This KOA delivered the goods.
Bathrooms we’re exceptionally clean with plenty of hot water, grounds were neat, dog play area was nice.
We would definitely stay again on another trip though Nebraska.

Passing through on the way to Randolph AFB in Texas and just stayed for the night. The reservation was made by email. Quick check-in. Fee includes Wi-Fi - signal was fine - and cable - did not use. Office has an attached laundromat. Bathrooms/showers were small and very clean. Park rules are all times are quiet time, and it was. Most RV’s appeared seasonal. Great location just east of El Dorado.

Stopped for the night and would stay there again. Easy off I-70 and in a beautiful setting next to a river. Scott, the friendly owner, led us to our site. We try to avoid chain-anythings while traveling, and we’re very happy with the cleanliness and quirkiness it was exactly what hat we look for.
The only downside was the weather - cold, damp, misty, cloudy and windy so we couldn’t take the park path to the river.

We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon for a full day of fly fishing with a guide on Thursday. The site was clean and neat and not very full. That would change. Due to fire conditions charcoal grilling and campfires were prohibited.
The men’s shower could have been cleaner.
We would and hopefully will return again to this great campground and fish the amazing San Juan River. Kudos to New Mexico for this campground and the fishing opportunities in the Navajo Dam State Park.

We arrived on a Friday afternoon for one night with Site B4 - a parallel site. It was fine and right across from the unisex vault toilets.
There is a 1 Mile one way Trail from the campground to the Visitor Center and the part we hiked was spectacular. Remember: the campground is at 8,400 elevation - an easy 2 mile hike wasn’t for us.
We enjoyed the 40 minute Park Ranger talk about the park in the Amphitheater that started at 8pm.
