Nice little city park less than a mile off the highway. Easy in and out. Bathrooms also.
This was a nice free beach camp site. Few other campers around. Sand hard packed. Some road noise from Highway but this is offset from the sound of the ocean waves. We went to Brazoria Wildlife Refuge nearby and did the 7 mile driving tour with you tube narration. Highly recommend! Saw lots of birds, turtles, and alligators.
Free dump and water just outside of Durango. The Speedway is on the right side of the road coming from Durango (contrary to another review). Easy in and easy out especially if you are heading away from Durango. As other reviews indicate the sewer is on other side of curb. We used hose supports and worked great. Water pressure very low so took a long time to fill but hey it’s free!!
We found this wonderful park on Campendium because it was a nice middle stop on our way from Carlsbad to Killeen. It it a very large park with a lake, lots of trees and grass. No real designated spots so you can camp anywhere but lots of picnic tables and trash cans. It was spring break weekend and even though there were a lot of campers here we were able to spread out and get away. There is swimming in the lake and playgrounds too. Saw some people fishing. The morning sunset was gorgeous!

This is a fantastic little gem of a campground. Large level pull through sites, beautifully manicured landscape! The manager William was super helpful and attentive. We took his suggestion first night and went to K-Bon’s which is a local restaurant and had a platter of crawdads. We did the Creole Nature trail road trip which was great! We saw beautiful swamp lands, birds, alligators and other scenery. The loop took us about 5 hours. The Pintail auto tour in the Cameron Prairie National Wildlife refuge was less than 30 minutes from the campground and we saw dozens of alligators in a beautiful setting and it was free! We drive it twice :). I highly recommend this place!

We made a last minute plan to come to the needles district of Canyonlands. We weren’t charged the usual camping fee as the ranger informed us that they waive the fee in the winter until March 1st. We found the perfect spot at the end of a culdesac. It was a great site with lots of privacy and wonderful views. We did a 4 wheel drive road to the Colorado overlook and a spectacular hike called Chesleys loop. The trailhead was only a couple of miles from the campground and now one of my all time favorite hikes. We stayed in our 32 foot class C RV. There were several sites that would accommodate larger RVs. I highly recommend this campground.

We loved our stayed at Padre Island National Seashore North Beach. There were few other campers our entire time. It is less crowded than South beach. There are no facilities at North beach, just a large trash can and registration kiosk at the entrance. Be careful to watch the tides as I hear storm surge can push the water up to the dunes. We didn’t have this issue during our stay though I spoke to others who had. Also be careful not to park too close to the dunes as the sand is softer there. We got stuck in our way out! Otherwise our time here was magical!
