Really cool little stop for local sightseeing! Lots of fun for the kids and almost indestructible. Would like to see more information on the artist posted somewhere.
Sloss Furnaces is an amazing trip back in time! The site is free to walk around and explore. There is also an audio tour. Reported to be haunted. We have had several paranormal experiences there over the years. Definitely check out "the tunnel"! Lots of community events, performances, metal workshops, ghost tales, and Sloss Fright Furnace (during the Halloween season)! Do not miss this on your trip to Birmingham.
Cool little stop in the tiny town of Rockford. Old jail dates from the 19th century and has a cemetery dating from around the same time. Nice stop to kill some time and take pictures if you're into old stuff.
Situated really close to the super cool Riverwalk, the Alamo was really interesting for the family. The younger ones got a little distracted but loved the gift shop. The history buff in me really enjoyed being "where it happened", and the exhibits are well marked and explained. Definitely a must stop if nothing else than to say you've been!
Stopped by with the kids, and it was a really nice stop. Educational and wonderfully grand. Check out the sculptures (cast replicas) inside!
Stayed here in early June last year. The owners were really nice, but it is in an extremely depressed area of town. Jude is fenced off, so we felt safe once we got in the gate. Cute pool and several sweet cats that my kids loved getting to know.
Wonderful park for Camping! We camped with my 3 children and loved it. Clean and peaceful. The nearby "beaches"; however, were not as impressive. Also, you have to pay $6 for adults and $4 for kids at the pool in the park. Camping, yes... much else, not so much...
This was an amazing experience! The actors playing the residents were fantastic. Our kids loved it and so did we!
We did the house tour about 10 years ago and were not disappointed. Our guide was wonderful and told everything with a macabre matter of fact tone. I still have pictures of my youngest son lying in the spot where Mrs. Borden fell. Strange kid...
