After driving from northern CA we found Stovepipe Wells a welcome spot to hide out from the heat and starkness of Derath Valley. The Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. Restroom facilities adjacent to the General Store were clean and comfortable. The RV parking spot was a long gravel parking lot with each spot a "drive-thru" with neighbors on each side. Full hookups made it comfortable. For an overnight stay, considering the alternatives (few), I rate this a good choice.

We spent 3 days visiting Santa Fe with this shady RV park as our base. Located on a busy commercial highway, TR is a convenient bus ride away from major shopping areas and downtown Santa Fe with all it has to offer. The staff here is friendly and gracious. They will give/loan you guides, maps, info and advice. Accommodations are comfortable. One of the highlights of our visit was dining at nearby El Comal, a truly authentic "local" Mexican restaurant with terrific salsa. Cell level was acceptable. The only noise issue was the rap music coming from a nearby party one evening. Probably the best RV campsite within Santa Fe proper.

We stayed at Black Ranch 10 years ago and found it a perfect spot to spend a night prior to visiting Grand Canyon and returning to Las Vegas. This year we were going in the opposite direction and found it had not changed a bit. Still clean, comfortable accommodations (including private showers, laundry, propane, spacious campsites). The hosts are friendly and helpful. The trucks on route 40 can be noisy but we didn't notice them. I highly recommend this friendly RV campground.

We chose this RV campground because it was located on our route to Mesa Verde and it appeared to be quite beautiful. Indeed it was. The grounds are impeccably maintained with flowers everywhere, landscaped lawns and carefully planned streams winding through the property. That's the good news. The bad news is how close they park everyone. And the really bad news is how they charge top dollar for the privileged of staying here and then tell you all the restrooms/showers are closed due to Covid. (Full disclosure... they mentioned this in the advance email bill). However they don't offer a refund or cost break for not providing that basic service. And all the while the smiling staff is walking around without face masks and otherwise ignoring Covid distancing protocols. In my view this place is solely interested in profit, not service or accommodations. Very pretty but not worth the big bucks. The business about Covid closing the washrooms is an excuse to scrimp on maintenance costs while soaking their customers.

We arrived at this secluded mountain-top National Park campground on a chilly, wet evening in late May with snow on the ground. For a while we were the only visitors. The sites are nicely paved but with no services. There are well-maintained facilities nearby however. The attraction here is the natural beauty of the place, perched on the edge of a rim overlooking the winding Green River. We were told by the friendly park ranger that the park gets much busier with warmer weather. That made me pleased to see the snow, even in late May.
Cell coverage is pretty spotty up here but it improves as you head down the mountain road. All in all a beautiful spot to spend the night.

This privately run RV camping facility within the GCNP is tailored to accommodate all sizes of RVs from trailers to mega-monsters. All sites are drive-through and have full hookups and picnic tables. Some (like ours) even have nearby shade trees. The sites are close but staggered to allow some sense of privacy. We arrived to discover there had been a mixup in our reservation date. The desk staff was very helpful in allowing us to occupy a cancelled space. The campsite is in comfortable biking distance from the main park attractions and the convenient park shuttle bus to all others stops next to the camp entrance booth. We had a terrific 2-day visit and would recommend this RV park to any visitors who want a comfortable GCNP experience.

The Morefield campground is located on a hillside in a series of loops with back-in parking. Our loop had full hookups which was a welcome feature. The sites are fairly level but may require assistance to make it perfect. Sites are separated by foliage which affords some shade and privacy. We found our site to be quiet and scenic. The deer who visited in the evening also enjoyed the tranquility. Cell coverage at the site was minimal with our booster but quite good near the General Store/laundry/gas station nearby. There are showers/restroom facilities down the hill from the campsite but we did not try them. Of course the main attraction here is the park itself. Amazing history and terrain to explore. This is a great place to stay while enjoying Mesa Verde National Park.

Fortunately for us we visited Yellowstone a week before the deluge closed the park. Our sympathies go to all those whose plans were dashed or disrupted by this natural disaster, We enjoyed a 2-day visit to America's premiere national park, viewing many of the park's iconic attractions including a 2-hour traffic jam created by a belligerent bison. We chose Madison for it's central location and what we thought were its amenities. It turns out there were none. Madison is a lovely parking lot with public bathrooms. No showers. No Laundry. A fresh water hose that didn't work and a functioning pump out station. This campground is administered by a private corporation (Xanterra) who vacates the premises at 6pm leaving 270 campers with no supervision or safety oversight. There is no phone service, cell or otherwise after 6pm. If you have an emergency in this campground you are totally on your own. This is what the "privatization" of the NPS buys you. Accordingly I would never book a campground site here again in spite of the scenic values this place has.

We pulled into Signal Mountain campground after crossing Wyoming through sun, rain, snow, sleet, trucks, cars, deer, antelopes and dinosaurs. Quite a trip. Advisory... Jackson Hole is a shopping mall with antelope horns and cowboy hats. Signal Mountain is a figure eight loop with lots of back-in RV campsites separated by some trees. With the exception of one or two sites at the northern end you can't see much scenery beyond the trees. That said, it's a pleasant spot to base your tour of the region. Our site had full hookups which made it more comfortable. On day 2 the Gods looked kindly on us and the clouds parted revealing the high peaks in all their splendor. Got some terrific shots from Jenny Lake. While in town (Colter Bay), we learned about the water management issue leaving all the boats high and dry for the summer. Strange doings with the local farming community taking water from Jackson Lake. Regardless, this is a spectacular example of the National Park System at it's best. Hopefully it will not follow others which have been "privatized" (translation... turned into corporate profit centers with trees.) We had minimal cell coverage in our site. The nearby General store had good wifi, as did the excellent laundry even closer. Grand Teton is amazing in any weather. Don't miss it!

We booked site 42 originally and discovered on arrival it had no sewer hookup (Standard vs Standard-Full). The manager very kindly moved us up to site 45 which had this feature. This was one of the best in our month-long journey around the West. A terrific RV camping facility at very reasonable prices. Great biking/hike to the beach. We loved this park. Bandon... not so much.
