Brown County State Park is one of Indiana’s best parks, with good scenery and many hiking trails.

Our campsite was very level but some are not. Check the description on the website.

Cost was $23 plus $6 transaction fee and $9 for the out-of-state vehicle.

Very nice lake with campgrounds next to it. The campsites are spaced OK and the trees provide additional privacy. Just pot toilets but new bath houses are under construction.

The campground has decent facilities, bath house with free shower, paved pads, hookups. There was significant traffic noise so not a wilderness experience.

We are probably biased because we stayed at this park for the maiden voyage of our RV. It is a very well-rounded facility with reasonably spaced campsites, electrical plus, level parking spots, flush toilets, showers and laundry. This is not really a mountain park, at elevation 7100 feet, but plenty of trees and close to beautiful mountains. Well taken care of, too.

We made a quick stop here but want to come back for more. This park has multiple campgrounds and many different activities. There are some nice bike trails we tried out and we also did a short hike.
The bathhouse and showers were quite nice. The campsite was level and set up well.

This was a quick and easy one-night stop for us, not too far from I-10. Only $10 at senior rate with full hookups. It is a small parish (county) park along a river. A parish worker stopped by to collect the fee in the morning. The bathhouse has flush toilets but no showers, set up as one multi-toilet bathroom labeled both mens/womens (?).

So overall adequate but basic and the price is right.

Overall this s a good place to camp for Voyageurs NP.
It is an older RV park, right in town with tightly spaced campsites. A bit on the noisy side, especially road noise from nearby roads but things quieted down at night.
Payment is cash or check only.
Telephone reservations only - not online.
The bathhouse is adequate but in need of repair, if not a total remodel.
If it wasn’t for its proximity to Voyageurs, I probably wouldn’t recommend this place.

We enjoyed staying here. The staff is friendly and helpful, the facilities are in good shape.
We had full hookups at $50/night, so a bit pricey but not crazy expensive.
The water from the hookup tasted terrible, so we did not drink it.

The north side of San Angelo SP is a bit more remote, only 2 other RV units were there when we camped here. Very quiet. The park ranger mentioned that some people choose Bald Eagle campground because it has trees and shade. Sites well layed out. The place could use some tender loving care —water faucet strapped to the post with decaying duct tape.

Oh, the signage is almost non-existent. We had to ask a fellow camper to confirm that we had found Bald Eagle campground.

Overall this campground is pretty good. The person that designed this place must have had the goal of cramming sites into every corner. Not layer out well with tight spacing compared to your usual state park. The signage for campsites was nonexistent so we just wandered around until we found ours.
The lake and marina are excellent.
