We stayed at this campground a year ago — Site #5 — as we sauntered back north from the Florida Keys. We only stayed one night, but it was obvious that while the campground had potential it wasn’t living up to it. Many sites were filled with what appeared to be “long term” residents. Campsites lacked basic yardwork/grooming and the bathrooms needed attention/cleaning. Our campsite didn’t even have a picnic table.
We came back this year by default — not able to find any other available campsites along our route. We stayed in Site #5 again.
What a pleasant surprise! Sites cleaned and freshly mowed! Bathrooms clean! No long term residents! NEW picnic tables at all the campsites! And a new manager who was out and about making rounds on a very regular basis!
Kudos to the town for finding and hiring someone who takes pride in their work. We will now plan on making this Campground a regular stop and not just a default overnight stay.

I stayed here for Ironman Augusta. I am not yet self contained and there were not many choices for places with facilities.
The camp site was nicely wooded. The view of the pond/lake was nice. And it was really quiet and clean. The bathrooms were some of the cleanest campground bathrooms I have been in.
There doesn’t seem to be much staff but when I arrived there was a lady in a car that I asked about check in and she apparently was the host because she was able to change my site which was nice.
I would stay here again if I race Augusta again.

We stayed there 2 separate nights on Oct 3 and Oct 6 at site 17. We did not dump any tanks on our first stay but on the 2nd stay we attempted to empty our gray water first but the drain was plugged with what appeared to be sticks, pine needles, etc because the lid had prob been left off for quite some time. The park does not appear to be staffed and their is no check-in process. When we arrived there some locals just backed into our spot just hanging out doing who knows what. We couldn't tell that there is any gate to be locked at night and as stated no check-in gate with information, etc. Reservation provided by reserve america provides no information as well. We saw people driving through the campground and walking through at random that were definitely not camping there.
We left first thing in the AM and didn't have time to call but it was no big deal to us since we weren't real full. Upon arriving at our next destination we called Reserve America about the problem but they said to call the park directly. We did call the park directly and informed the lady that answered about the problem. Immediately gave me a condescending attitude telling me I had it in the wrong drain...that there was a blue and a green and I had it in the "overflow" drain..LOL New one to use full-timers. The sewer drain had a concrete donut around it which is very common right by the pedestal and water. It was apparent someone had dumped there before and prob overflowed because of the dried up toilet paper debris. She just wanted to argue with me and still was giving me attitude and was adamant I had it in the wrong drain. She informed me "she should know" since she lived there and drove a black BMW. We walked the small campground many times with our dogs those 2 days and what appeared to be a host site and a sidebyside there but no vehicle or no sign indicating a host. At that point, I was upset and decided to ask for a partial refund since we did pay $30 for full hook up and sewage, then she just laughed and with more condescension said, "oh, I see why you called...you just wanted money back"
Anyways, driving locally through the neighborhood last night to get diesel I can see why you might not want to stay there..neighborhoods definitely look sketchy and run down. Not surprised we saw cops staying in the campground parking lot 2 different times and we saw random people coming through the park. Lucky for us it was weeknights else I would be sure to bet on the weekends there is a lot of extracurricular activity going on. I would not recommend staying there because of the sewage issue and the incompetence of local management.

The campground has decent facilities, bath house with free shower, paved pads, hookups. There was significant traffic noise so not a wilderness experience.

NO CAMP HOST OR SUPPORT!!!!!!! Reserve America double booked the same site or there are squatters here. Either way after many, many calls to both the campsite and Reserve America nothing was resolved. There was a camper on our site that obviously was dug in for the long haul and not moving. We were unable to resolve the issue after many voice mails. There is no camp host. 2 Stars instead of 1 (is none an option?) because the sites are spread apart and the campsite is quiet. BEWARE if you have issues at this campsite there is no one that will resolve them. I bet we hear from them when they realize we stopped payment on the three night stay that we never got to enjoy.

I have stayed here 2 times. If you can make reservations and have a self contained camper where you don’t need to use the bathrooms at all, it’s pretty nice. Bathrooms are locked with a code that is not provided until you call and ask for it. When you get I. The bathroom, you wish you didn’t get the code 😟. No toilet paper, not paper towels, no soap and I would never consider taking a shower there.
I have been at site #24 both times. Sewer is way up near the road no where near the water and electric, so my hose would not reach.
The water front is pretty, but both times I’ve stayed there we will have a campfire and someone will be walking right on our campsite near the lake. This most recent time I think they were frog hunting or something. But others than these issues, it’s a nice area

The park gets a little noisy during the day but it was quiet at night. Bathroom facilities were locked when we were there in November. Nice walk on the old racetrack. The whole place smelled like natural gas, I am assuming it was coming from the lake, it was so strong we had trouble sleeping. I was able to find a clear path through the trees for Starlink.

We needed to make a quick visit to Augusta and this was a good enough place to stay a few nights. Certainly not a destination itself. Huge park to walk, with ball fields, basketball and tennis courts, community center and library. Full hookups although most have the sewer up near the front of the sites. No host on site. Clean enough, quiet enough. We didn’t use the bathhouse or stay out after dark. (looks like the gate closes at night but no code given in confirmation email) Sites are level enough and spaced far enough apart. Tenters would have a challenge as tent area is very far from bathhouse. Stays can be max 30 days long, so there can/are some long time folks here, but had clean sites. We had no odor from ponds but I bet in the warmer months the bugs and smell could be a factor. 2 bars ATT cell and the OTA tv stations come in fine. Good price, senior and military discounts (check a box when making online - through ReserveAmerica - reservation).

In town to visit relatives. This was close and inexpensive and everything (reservation, registration) was done over the internet.. When we arrived, we noticed that the whole campground was't "policed up;" there was trash pretty much everywhere. The only "official" people we saw was someone mowing and someone picking up the trash.
Sites were, for the most part, paved, level and back in. Sewer connection was an unstandard size and most people had taken a rock or two from their fire ring to hold their sewer pipe down, Water and electric was fine. No wifi. Other than road noise, it was quiet. There are ball fields not too far away and it might get noisier during the late spring and summer. We never used the bathroom facilities.
