This is a wonderful place to camp. Located right on the Oregon coast. If your one of the lucky ones you can hear the waves pounding on the shore. Just a short walk from your camp you can play on the beach or go for walks in the surf.

Sites are paved with some privacy, depending on the site. Book early as the good site go fast. Rest Rooms are very clean and recently renewed. Services here include Water and Trash. No Dump station at the facility. If you are going North there is a Dump Station in Walport that is city operated. Not the most fancy, but it works.

There are lots of destinations here, including the Hectca Lighthouse and Newport Fishing Village. Also in Newport, there is an Aquarium which I did not visit.

This was my first camp here at Beavertail Hill State Park and turned out to be more than I expected. It looks like they upgraded the campground recently as the 50 amp electric pedestal looked new. The bathrooms are clean vault toilets. No showers are available here. Also water is available, but not at the sites, unless you are lucky. I am a Montana resident, so I got a discounted price.

Site 006 was within my hose reach and I was able to connect when I needed a refill of my freshwater tank.

The big negative here for RV's is there isn't a Dump and most sites are pretty tight for larger RV's. I went to Bretz's RV in Missoula to dump (FREE).

If you don't like train noise, there are a few trains passing near here throughout the day and night. While not too close, you can hear it.

Campsites have plenty of trees for some privacy. A few campsites are tight for larger RV's. My fifth wheel is 32' and a little tight on site 006 where I parked, but doable.

Campground is along the Clarks Fork River where you can float, kayak and fish. There is a nature trail about an hour's walk, with thick trees along the river at times. Watch out for bees and wasps.

Closest market is Clinton Market. It's a nice place to shop only ten minutes away. The largest big city close by is about a thirty minute drive, Missoula, Mt.

I visited Garnet Ghost Town, only an hour or so away. If you go take hwy 200 out of Missoula. It's longer by at least thirty minutes, but paved, that is unless you want to go four wheeling. Most of the roads on the map off of Interstate 90 are dirt and get pretty rough.

While I enjoyed my stay, it happened to be quite warm and my site didn't have electricity or any large trees. There were a few in the campground just not my site. I chose not to go into the caverns so I can't review them, however many said they were worth seeing.

My site was pretty level. The campground roads and sites were gravel. Also there was a lot of room in between the sites, but not that much privacy as there weren't many shrubs. They have water and a dump facility there, but not at the sites. Rest rooms were around the campsite, some were vault toilets. Showers were available.

Campground is located in the National Forest near Wood Canyon Lake (walking Distance). The entrance and campground roads are paved. The campsite pads are paved with large areas of open space and trees around many sites. No utilities at your site so fill your water at one of the many locations throughout the park. Solar panels are not reliable here, at least some sites, due to the trees. Generators are allowed during the day and early evening.

I camped here using my Senor Interagency Pass, so I got 50% off of the $20 fee. There is a dump available that is shared by several Federal Forest campgrounds in the area and is $7. There is also boondocking areas available in the areas forests.

The lake store is lose by, well stocked with many items, but as expected a little steep $$. The nearest town with a Walmart is about 30 minutes away. Also there is a laundromat there, Very clean and nice equipment.

I would agree with several others posting for this campground. It's one of my favorite TT campgrounds. The river access is nice and this time of year the water is low but still enough to play in and may even be better for younger children.

Roads are narrow but paved. A big plus for TT campgrounds. It's so much better than eating dust your entire stay. All sites are 30 Amps with water. They do have a "Honey Wagon" for $10 very reasonable. Sites are typical TT standards. Some are small and many are odd-shaped, but there are some nice ones if you're lucky enough.

The facilities were mostly closed here due to COVID, but the campground was maintained better than most TT campgrounds. I also agree with others that the staff was very friendly. The campground was packed on the weekends! Probably due to the COVID lockdown.

I've camped here many times in the past and it's one of my favorite places to get away, yet still close to town and have some amenities. It's about a 20 minutes drive to a store.

Views of the desert are nice, especially the Superstition Mountain background. I usually stay in a barebones site, using my solar panel, but if you want to camp a little closer there are hookups available. Rest rooms are clean and many places to hike.

Only real negative here is the small "Theme Park" several miles away blows their whistle every once in awhile, but it adds to the ambiance of the gold mining origins.

This was a nice campground to stay at if you wanted to be close to the city. Only about five minutes from Walmart. Quite a lot of road noise in the campsite where I was camped The $10 price reflects a Senior Discounted rate.

Facility had paved roads and paved campsite pads for RV's. There was tent areas that were nice. My son and friends camped there. The sites were large and private with lots of trees and bushes. Also sites had tables and fire rings. The main rest rooms and showers looked fairly new. The outer rest room were standard issue ;)

Pleasant nature trail that the younger kids enjoyed.

I love Montana. Of course it's my home state too. This State Park has great discounts for Seniors and Residents of Montana. The Host was very friendly and attentive. The campground is a smaller one, I believe sixteen sites. The privacy was good, however site #008 was next to a vault toilet and had an occasional visitor. The sites are basic dry camping. One of the negatives is there isn't a dump and you won't find one for many miles. Also the campground is very close to a major railroad line and has trains passing often. I enjoy the trains, whistles and background noise so it's not an issue for me. There is a boat launch here and fishing.

I visited Thompson Falls, which isn't that dramatic anymore due to the dam placed just above the falls. The parklike grounds have trails and areas to picnic. I enjoyed the views and the serenity in this area.

I also drove north to Kootenai Falls one day and enjoyed the hike and huge falls, which is the largest in Montana from what I have read.

I will return here someday and stay longer to enjoy the peaceful river passing by.

I wanted to visit the Historical Museum and Buffalo Bills vacation home on my way West. Other than a train whistle in the distance, It was a quiet place to stay. Vault toilets, no Dump! The nearest RV dump I found was 5 miles away at a gas station. No water at the site and the water available was either in someone's site or down by the restroom. If you're connecting to RV you'll need 50-75 feet of hose unless you get one of the three or four sites that have a hydrant close. The sites do have 50 Amp electric.

The $22 dollar fee included an $8 non-resident day fee (each day), something I find unfriendly in Colorado and Nebraska. I would rather just know it's $22 and pay it. If they want to give a discount to residents then do it at the end like Montana does. I know it's semantics but leaves a bad feeling for me.

At least during my stay off the maximum of 14 days. Site costs range from $23-$25 dollars. Facilities are older but maintained, well at least cleaned. I have no gripes as I'm staying in a fifth wheel. Some campsites are very unlevel.

There is a Dump station with a place to hookup a fresh water hose, but when arriving here the turn is too much for a trailer if any length. You'll need to do a loop around and come back. When leaving note the dump fee is $8 and you'll need a credit it debit card to activate.

The campsites have a sturdy picnic table and fire ring with a grill. Firewood is available from the Host. The lake is only a few hundred feet depending on your campsite and does have a dog beach, but make sure you use the correct beach.
