I realize the reviews here are 4 years old.... after I drove here. So let me give you a updated review. There is nothing here anymore. The beach is fenced off and all other entrances have no significant glass. I wouldn’t waste my time here. There are signs that say no collecting yet there are people here with buckets and knee pads. What a disappointment.
What a interesting thing to do. Bring coins, the guy in front of me tried to use a dollar and he didn’t look successful in retrieving a soda. I got a root beer which was funny because that’s my favorite soda. Cute little stop if your in the area.
If your planning a trip to Seattle your probably planning to see this touristy location. Just be aware it’s a tourist trap. There isn’t much for sale other then fish, flowers and produce. (Of course there are others but they were far and few between) I went early hoping to beat the crowds and most of the booths were empty or not set up yet. And pretty much everything lower then the main floor was closed. I would stop in just to say you did and then hit real Seattle.
Maybe it smells worse when it’s hotter, with these reviews I was expecting a wave of absolute disgust but was greeted with something more in the “just gross” category. Still it’s a quirky little stop right under pike place. Why not stop in and admire the grossest.
If your going to Seattle you have to go to this tiny park with it’s beautiful view. Best place to see the skyline.
Good luck trying to use gps to get to it. Mine directed me to use the bridge above it. Use Troll Avenue in your gps instead. Once you get to it it’s a cute little roadside photo op.
I wish I could just live in this forest. So surreal. Feels almost prehistoric with the moss and ferns. I woke up to deer in my camp site. Definitely go if you love that true camping feel where you feel totally away from civilization. The crowds were definitely more tame then at Yellowstone. I had spotty to no reception.
Very pretty waterfall. There is a 1/2 mile hike to the bottom. Be aware that while pretty it is very steep. Strollers or people with painful joins or very small kids may want to skip that part. I saw plenty of parents carrying there little ones because they were wore out. But the top is easily accessible. It was very busy and you kinda had to wait your turn for a photo.
I made the very stupid decision of trying to tackle this park in a day. Not a good choice. If you come plan to stay for a few days so you can see everything. Also bring a coat even if you plan to come in the summertime, another mistake I made was not packing my own and it snowed... in June. It’s also a very packed park, quite touristy. The park is beautiful however and I definitely recommend seeing it. I was worried I would not see any wild life but managed to see bear, elk, deer and bison.
This place is huge, so big that the directories give you turn by turn directions to the store or restaurant of your choice. There is a store for just about everyone and costars for the little ones.
