Bob is great. We arrived late and he was here with in minutes to check us in after we arrived and called his cell phone. He showed us to our site and helped back us in. He gave us a tour of the facility and showed how things operated. The second time staying here he gave us the same service. The laundry room has 6 or 7 washer and dryers. All kept very clean along with the showers and bathroom’s. The washers are $1.75 and the dryer is $1.25/ 30 min. This is a great stop over place. The only gas station in miles sells gas and diesel.

Wide open easy access. Spots are easy in pull through and very well spaced. We used after paying a non refundable $15 to see it there were any open campsites in Valley Of Fire state park. There were non when we arrived at 1:30pm. The employee at the kiosk said there might be open sites and took our $15. It was a donation.

It was very quiet. Great access to the ocean. We filled our fresh water tank there with a bucket. Very clean bathrooms. Some sites would be hard to back a trailer into. There were more tents then trailers. Also, spent a great afternoon at Fort Ross just about 5 miles down the road. Driving hwy 1 with 15 and 20 mph switchbacks keeps you on your toes but worth it.

We arrived 35 minutes before check-in and it was no problem. No privacy. This place is not for us. We booked 3 nights and when we pulled in we knew it was a mistake. We stayed one of the three nights and left the next day. They stand by their 14 day cancellation policy. We lost the other two nights. O’well. During the winter months most of the sites have people living in them. Their stay can be up to 6 months. They leave when the summer rates increase.

We really like this campground. I parrot other 5 star reviews. We cut our stay short because someone stole our Yeti cooler and it’s contents. We have been camping for over 30 years staying at all types of campgrounds and this the the first time this has happened. Enjoy Fowler’s campground but be aware! Also, the deer are very pesky. We had to shoo them away from our food and wash water often.

We arrived Sunday and the host was at the entrance sitting at the checkin tables and were friendly and helpful. The lake is clean folks swimming, boating, fishing and just sitting by the shore. It is a popular day use area. The hiking is great. The sites are pretty shaded so solar can be an issue, but we made it 3 days with no issues. The weekends are very crowded, the tell was the heavy exit traffic, the full dumpsters with a dozen or so trash bags piled around them. It all was hauled away that Monday afternoon. Zero Verizon bars. No fires allowed. Cal fire drove through a couple of times. We would have gave it 5 stars but the bathrooms were very stinky. A couple made your eyes water. It was a complaint shared by other campers. There aren’t any amenities close so come supplied. The road is great and well maintained.
