Small RV park behind a small motor court. No frills, but everything worked and it was an easy in and out. We stayed here one night on the way from Maine to Montreal, around July 4th. All other parks in the area required 3-night minimums because of the holiday. All sites were pull through, and roads were easy to navigate. Check-in was ok - the owner was not in the office when I arrived, but she got there within 5 minutes. Site was gravel, plenty long for our 38' MH plus Jeep in tow. Water pressure and WiFi were fine. 30 amp service only, and it was hot that day, so we couldn't run both AC's. Trees partially blocked satellite reception so able to get only 2 of 3 western arc Dish satellites. Cable was basic. DO NOT LET YOUR DOGS WALK IN THE TREES, as there are large brown ticks everywhere, and one of our dogs got a tick on his head and one on his chin right after he walked near the trees.

You're paying for location, plus amenities for kids. This is a very busy campground. Nevertheless, lovely setting right by the ocean. Far north end of Mount Desert Island, so convenient to both Bar Harbor to the south and big-box shopping to the north. We were in site 131, a pull through. Was open and sunny - no shade, but still only got 2 of 3 western arc Dish satellites since those satellites are low in the sky and the trees between our site and the ocean blocked one of the satellites. Nice patio with fire ring with built in grill, plus barbecue and table. Site was level enough, and long enough for MH and toad. However, exiting was too tight to hook up at site, so had to do that near dump station. WiFi, cable, and water pressure were all good. Nice dog park. On site outdoor lobster restaurant was pretty good. All the staff were very friendly and helpful - definitely some of the nicest RV park people we've ever met. Mosquitoes were kinda bad - but repellent works well enough for that. Since we are retired and don't have kids, we might opt for a more adult-oriented campground next time. If you have kids, they will love this place.

A bit pricey but you are paying for location. Nice campground, almost all sites are wooded. Nonetheless, we managed to lock onto 2 of the three possible western arc Dish satellites. Our site (J2) was level, but there was a drop off when pulling out so we elected not to hook up the toad until we pulled out to near the entrance. Even that was tight. Roads are a bit tight for our 38' foot coach but not unreasonable. Sites are close together but not unreasonable. Loved the direct path to the Cape Cod Rail Trail, a nice bike path. Staff was especially nice and helpful. We had trouble with shore power when we first plugged in, so a staff person came out right away and tested the plug. As it turned out, this was our first sign that our transfer switch was going bad. Their outlet was fine. Not every site has 50 amp - we had one. Nightly rate above included $8 per night for our small dogs. Dog park was nice. Cable TV was a bit snowy. Only a couple of OTA stations available. Water pressure and WiFi was average. We were able to use our signal extender to lock onto a nearby Time Warner WiFi site which was faster than the park's - plus the park's WiFi is throttled after a certain level of use. Entrance is gated so good security. I would definitely stay there again.

This is a very lovely campground, with a shady section of back-in sites with lots of trees and grass, and a sunny section with long pull-through sites. The pull-through sites are closer together than the back-in sites, but the pull-through sites are satellite friendly. We spent three nights in site F13, an end site that was very close to the Portsmouth dog park. We had a nice patio with a square, raised, concrete fire pit and a picnic table. The site was relatively level - we used only our front jacks. WiFi was well above average, but water pressure was below average. There are some nice hiking trails nearby, but if you have small dogs be aware there are coyotes in the area. We heard them howling late one night. The staff was friendly and helpful. Make sure to take Stringham off W Main, and then turn north on Sullivan Road to the park. The resurfacing of Sullivan is complete and it is smooth. I agree that it is a bit pricey for the amenities, but you are paying for the location - close to Newport. I would definitely stay there again. I wished we could have stayed longer

We are a retired couple, so the kid-based amenities are of no value to us. After staying 4 nights in this park, we've decided to limit our use of KOA parks going forward. East Coast KOA's seem to emphasize kid-based amenities instead of the basics. Our first two nights were quiet, but the last two nights were a Friday and Saturday, and the place was crazy packed. Our "deluxe" site (R11) was at the end of a cul-de-sac, was a back-in, and was somewhat open but we were not able to lock onto all of the Dish satellites (western arc) despite being told our site was satellite friendly. The site was very tight, with our neighbors fire ring about 4 feet from the rear of our motorhome. We were thankful that our neighbor did not use it. Water pressure was average. WiFi was severely throttled after a certain level of daily MB use, so don't plan to stream a movie. Staff was friendly. Dog park was nice. Finally, and there is nothing the park management can do about this, but we did not feel comfortable around the guests at this park. We are a retired interracial gay couple, but we don't fly a rainbow flag or otherwise make ourselves conspicuous. We have camped all over the US, and have never ever felt uncomfortable until we camped at this park. Since we don't have kids, we've now realized that we should avoid KOA's going forward as they are not the best fit for us.

This is a beautiful park with grass lawns everywhere. The property rises gently up a slope. The staff was friendly and helpful. The swimming pool looked very nice but we did not use it. We stayed in a full hookup pull through site (#18) that was level in the front 2/3's of the site, but sloped off quite a bit at the back 1/3. We exited onto 2nd street, which was bit higher than the site, so we had to make sure our air suspension was fully inflated as we were concerned the front end of the rig would drag. We were told this site was satellite friendly, but we were not able to lock onto all of the Dish satellites because of a tree in the way. WiFi and water pressure was average. Roads were easily navigable. Highway 26 from I-80 to the campground is a bit narrow.

Really nice but very large KOA. Stayed only one night passing through. Had one of their nicest sites (312) with concrete patio and table. Satellite friendly. Staff was friendly and helpful. Navigating to site involved one tight turn (for long rigs) leaving the registration area, but after that the roads are easily navigable. Water pressure and WiFi were average. Would definitely stay there again if passing through.

Average KOA. Stayed 2 nights, and it stormed most of the time. Our site puddled quite a bit. Dog park was small and somewhat muddy. Lots of trees so no satellite reception - tried portable dish as well but to no avail. Cable was snowy - typical for an older park. Site was level. Water pressure and WiFi were average. Staff was friendly and helpful. The donkeys were cute. Roads were navigable for our 38' rig plus Jeep in tow. Our Garmin 760 got us there just fine.

Stayed one night passing through. Nice KOA with good facilities, and good dog park. Staff was friendly and helpful. Site was treed so was not able to get satellite connection. Roads were navigable for my 38' coach with Jeep in tow. Did not detach while there. Gravel site and gravel roads. Sites are a bit tight. Road noise from I-70 definitely noticeable when outside, but could barely hear it inside the motorhome. Our site was relatively level but didn't appear that all sites were that way. Wifi was below average, water pressure was average. Cable TV was snowy.

Stayed for one night passing through. Nice new park with new infrastructure and wide, concrete pads. Spacing was adequate. Did not have to detach as the sites are quite long. Easy walk to Boot Hill museum. The adjacent Long Branch Lagoon water park would be great for kids. Wifi and water pressure were average. No trees, so no shade but satellite friendly. We were there mid-week and it was practically empty. However..., the grass is full of stickers and my dogs hated that. The adjacent dog park was also full of stickers in the grass. Poorly placed hookups at the rear of the site, so if you don't want to detach, the sewer connection can be lengthy. There's no security and locals are regularly driving and walking through. You are right next to the zoo, so you can smell the bison depending on the direction of the wind. There's no pool or other amenities that would make it a "resort", so consider it just an RV park. Don't follow your GPS down 4th street - best to go to 14th Ave and then east on Park Street. If I were return to Dodge City, I would still stay there again given the convenient location, but I consider Dodge City a one&done destination
