My family goes here every summer for our family reunion... as far as hotels goes, it's pretty dated, and the food is so-so (the sweet tea and menu are alright, but I'd stay away from the buffet IMO) anyways, you are right on a lake, and only a hike away from waterfalls, so it's pretty scenic and beautiful in spite of the facilities shortcomings.

I suggest going to the Cascade Falls for a swim, they have tons of little jumps and a slide or two (rock slide that is)... it's just upstream and an easy hike from the nature center/parking lot (with stairs and only one tricky part towards the bottom) you can also hike to the top of Falls Creek Falls from the Cascades.

got to stay here on vacation when I was young. as a kid it was pretty impressive, but I imagine if I went back today I'd find it less so. anyways, it's super convenient when you are able to take a tram right from the hotel to whichever park want to see. and they have a nice pool and arcade, or at least did in the mid 90's :)

this place is definitely past it's prime of being one of the best and fanciest restaurants in town. but they still offer some tasty menu options and their deserts are what they brag about, so be sure to try them out!

friendly and nice staff and really fair prices... they also do an open mic and poetry readings etc, a good clifton establishment that hopefully continues to stay that way.

winton woods offers it all. paddle boats, jungle gyms, trails for cycling and hiking or just plain fitness, and of course frisbee golf... the frisbee golf course here is tucked away in the woods and no hole is super long (every hole should be played as a par 3 if you ask me) but with the trees and also the once a month night disc they offer, you will have fun. or at least I think so

great bike paths, and a solid frisbee golf course are what keeps me coming back to this place. it's a beautiful part of Hamilton County and should be enjoyed by all.

if you are looking for a touristy fun place to take your kids whilst in the Windy City stop by Ed Debevic's. they will make crude cracks at you and your friends, and the food is pretty so-so, so don't go in expecting it to be anything and you should be fine

This place is awesome! went here on an 8th grade trip to Chicago and still have fond memories of the planetarium and dino bones. If you have a kid or a deep fascination with the natural world you should definitely go.

the only real skiing option in the area... although it's just a little hill, they offer inter-tubing and have some cool events in the summertime for cyclists etc.
