We really enjoyed our two night stay at Edgar Evins State Park. The sites are wooden platforms built out over a hill that descends to the lake. We tow a popup camper (20’ opened) with a four door Jeep Wrangler and we fit in the spot just fine. There were other larger campers with slide outs there are well. Some sites would be difficult to back a camper into, but you can see photos of the sites on the website when you make reservations. We were at site 51 and it was perfect. I can see how some people might find walking uphill to the bathhouse tiresome, but it wasn’t too bad. Also, if you have a dog there are not too many places for your pup to do it’s business. The bathroom and showers were immaculately clean; they were probably the cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever seen at a state park. A big thank you to Kathy, the campsite host, who made us feel welcome from the moment we met her. We are already planning our return to EESP on our next trip through Tennessee.

This was our favorite RV park stop on our cross-country road trip. The owners were very welcoming and the park is immaculate. The bathrooms were recently remodeled and the grounds are well-manicured. We even had firewood delivered to our site as we were setting up. Another plus is the location- nestled in the countryside, far enough from the highway to avoid noise, but close enough to get right back on the road when you leave. Thank you for such a great experience!

Awesome! We stopped for one night on our drive cross-country. This place is beautiful. There was no crowd whatsoever (Sunday evening), the grounds were incredibly well-maintained, and the bathhouse was super clean. Plus the rangers were very friendly and helpful. The site sizes range and could accommodate anything from basic tents to larger Motorhomes (45 feet?). All-around a wonderful, relaxing experience. If you want to venture out, the park is nestled right between two quaint little towns (Oxford and Tiffin). Oh and bring cash! It’s $20 for one night and well worth every cent. Happy travels!

We stopped here on our long trek from Philly to San Antonio. Our experience was wonderful from the phone call reserving a room to check out. Amy at the front desk was incredibly welcoming and answered all of my questions without ever making me feel like I was bothering her. The room was very clean and comfortable. And we only paid $80/night as compared to neighboring hotels who charge over $120/night. The continental breakfast was great and check-out was a breeze. There is a Walmart and food within walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a nice stay for an affordable price.

Let me begin by saying that we stayed here for the simple reason that we were passing through and needed a spot to rest, hook up, and enjoy the AC. We have two kids (ages 6 and 3) and the resort was not really fun for them. They enjoyed swimming in the lake for awhile, but there was no playground or anything else to do. We still had fun sitting at our lot's picnic table playing cards in the peace and quiet. We decided that if we had a boat, kayak, or some other marine vessel, we would have had a lot more fun. So if you are looking for a place to take your kids and you have a boat, this place was inexpensive, not crowded at all, and provided a beautiful access to a gorgeous lake. Holly and her husband in the general store were incredibly friendly and conscientious of our needs. She even gave me some creamer from the coffee stand because they were out of bottles to sell. FYI, the store does not offer much in the way of food, so make sure you bring whatever nourishment you might want. Also the county in which Lakeside is located is DRY on Sundays, meaning NO beer/liquor sales, so make sure you stock up before you get there. The bathrooms/showers were ok, but there were dead gnats and other bugs in the sinks and around the showers. It was also not air-conditioned. After all was said and done, we had a pleasant experience.

We really loved our stay here. This was literally our first ever road trip in our newly remodeled 1993 Motorhome Class C. The staff was incredibly friendly, the general store was fully stocked (they even had diapers and wipes!), the bathrooms/showers were clean (especially considering the number of campers they have there on a daily basis), the other RVers were sociable and eager to help, the pool was ok, the playground was a big hit with our two kids (ages 6 and 3), and the river/waterfall was AWESOME. We stayed here toward the end of July and the weather was perfect. All the campsites were shaded and kept us comfortable. We barely used our AC. Our kids made friends easily and we wished we could have stayed longer. Our next visit will definitely be for more than one night. Our ONLY complaint, and I feel like this is an issue that management has little control of, would be the few campers who made the campground appear trashy. I feel like that sounds so rude of me, but I'm not sure how else to word it. What I mean by this is there were a few people who were obnoxious with little care for those in their vicinity, swimming in jeans and t-shirts in the pool, cursing loudly, and then using an inflatable air mattress instead of the camp's tubes to float down the river. I would say that 95% of the campers were genuinely nice and all there for the same reasons - to get away peacefully, so the few that were otherwise didn't exactly ruin the experience. I definitely recommend Shenandoah Valley KOA!
