A bit older hotel. No-one was there to check us in for about 15 minutes. Not a quiet hotel.
Nice newer hotel, clean and nice staff.
Nice park area if you have kids. You couldn’t really get down to the beach because of all the riprap. The riprap was made up of all kinds of odd shaped cement pieces. It actually looked like a dump site. We also had to pay $10 entry fee for non-residents and Fridays are considered weekend. Thought that was a bit much for what you get.
Nice park but small beach area. The beach had a lot of garbage on it.
We visited in February 2024. The cattail Marsh Wetlands was pretty nice. They have a nice long pier to walk out on and see all the birds. The conservatory was just ok. They had numerous amazing pieces of large petrified wood but the plants inside didn’t look like they were doing well. The botanical garden was laid out nice but not much blooming this time of year. It was really cool that everything was FREE!
So cute and the little park was well maintained.
Friendly staff and lobby was very nice, but the bathroom in the room could use some attention.
Only did the Pitcher Plant Trail. It was a nice trail. Did the trail in February so the pitcher plants were dormant. I bet it would be beautiful in the summer. If you didn’t want to do the entire 1 mile loop, just do the walk to the end of the boardwalk to see the pitcher plants.
