“Amazing views of Galveston Bay”
The 1000 Foot Fishing Pier and its woods and wetlands are teeming with life and are the perfect starting point of the Seabrook granite hike and bike trail system. Pine Gully trail loop is a 6-mile long loop. A wonderfully maintained crushed granite trail is a great surface for walking, running, or biking and is wide enough for strollers. It is pet-friendly and people friendly offering plenty of cold water in drinking fountains along the way as well as shady spots to rest. The trail is good for all skill levels and offers a number of activity options. Pine gully is also located along the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail and the trees within the park are worth inspecting for migrant land-birds. The wetlands have been restored and often attracts waterbirds.
Nice park area if you have kids. You couldn’t really get down to the beach because of all the riprap. The riprap was made up of all kinds of odd shaped cement pieces. It actually looked like a dump site. We also had to pay $10 entry fee for non-residents and Fridays are considered weekend. Thought that was a bit much for what you get.
