Cool history here… check out the old tavern museum while you’re in the area, also the historic district about a mile away.

Best scenery I’ve seen on the trip. Not cheap, though. It’s $45/for the car and driver and $20 for each additional driver. It’s overpriced by a lot, but that doesn’t stop the crowds. I went in October 8, when the fall color change was at its peak. 4 star but only because of the price. 5 star for the views

Pasta and drinks were delicious, pizza display was cool, atmosphere was great, service was excellent. If you enjoy a caprese, don’t get one here… it’s just a greens salad with mozzarella slices on top, very little basil, and they just use regular diced tomatoes. I’d have given this a five star all day if it weren’t for their version of a caprese.

I’m sure a lot of people have had wonderful experiences here … I did not. Lots of bright lights, and street vendors so in that respect it was awesome. What you can’t see in the pictures are the smells. Raw sewage. Also there’s hookers and pimps, drugs, and mobs of police officers that don’t seem to mind. A tour of America wouldn’t be complete without seeing Times Square, so … go see it, I guess.

I was in between stops on my route and didn’t have anything planned for the moment, so I decided to take a drive through the mountains. For a nice country drive, I was not disappointed. There’s a ton of winding mountain roads and some great overlooks. You have to be adventurous to find the good views, but it’s worth it. It was a good place to get lost. I went on a Thursday in September and the traffic was very light, but it looks like it might be a lot busier on the weekends and during peak season, judging by the amount of camping spots.

This place is awesome for campers and hikers. If you’re interested in sight seeing, but not too interested in hiking, I’d skip this one and go to the little River Canyon about an hour southwest, there’s a scenic drive there with several scenic overlooks.

I took the scenic drive, it took me about two hours to stop and see everything. It was a very nice drive. Not the best scenic view in the country but definitely better than I expected.

Used the paved trails to get to the falls and was disappointed because I though I’d be able to get closer. BUT… I decided to walk the trails anyway and there’s some interesting old buildings there they were from the early settler days (they were brought there from their original sites, but they were cool to explore anyway). Then … I found the trail that went to the lower falls and was not disappointed. The trail splits towards the end, make sure you take the higher trail so you can actually get behind the falls. I went in late September and the falls were very much falling lol.

I wouldn’t recommend taking the suspension bridge trail, unless you just want to do an extended nature hike. The trail to the bridge is a lot more difficult than the trail to the falls, and the bridge is a little less than photogenic.

Also, be sure you go down into the little canyon formation along the trail to the upper falls, it’s very neat. I think they call it the “fat man squeeze” but I’m a pretty big dude and I got through it fine.

Overall, very much worth the $6. I went in September 2021.

You’ll forget your in a cemetery. So peaceful. I went around 2018 and the columbarium was being renovated, so the tour didn’t take me there. I decided to walk and I’m glad I did, found the best headstone with my name on it!
