Best military park I’ve been to. Lots of history and beautiful scenery.

The views are like something from another planet! The wildlife isn’t shy whatsoever.

Very clean facility. Lots of interesting trucks and the like from throughout history. Very much worth the visit if your in the area. It’s also a gigantic truck stop so it’s a good place to stop along your journey even if you don’t go to the museum.

There a few hiking trails around, with a lot of wildlife and picturesque views. Be careful, though, I saw a lot of what looked like bear scat along the trail. There’s also a road along the creek that you can drive for about two miles as you get closer to Yosemite.

You have reached the end of the earth! Or, so it seems. There’s a ton of picturesque scenery and wildlife that greets you as soon as you get to the parking lot. The hike is short, easy, and well maintained. There’s only light traffic out here and it’s very peaceful.

You’ll need a park pass, but it’s very inexpensive, there’s only one road to get there and there’s a little diner on the way if you want to get some energy before taking the hike. The scenery from the turnouts isn’t the most impressive, but the views at the trail end are magnificent.

Driving over the bridge isn’t for the faint of heart. But it is definitely a good photo opportunity. The logs you see sticking out of the water is where the port used to be. Now, it’s on the other side of the bay, but from this side you can watch the ships coming in from a distance, it’s pretty cool. I give it a 3-star because there’s not really a good observation point that I could find, so getting a unique shot of the bridge is difficult.

Excellent place to get out and rest from your drive. There’s a trail that you can use to get to the bottom, it loops to the north, then back up to the highway. There were a few people there when I wen but far from crowded. Definitely one of the more majestic views I’ve seen, and it’s free!

It’s a little further north than the app shows, but it’s very easy to find, just zoom out a little and you’ll see a turnout on the eastbound side of the road.
