We stayed on the Jim Long Loop back in early January of 2021. When we first got there, we decided to unhook our popup trailer so it would be easier to scout for a secluded spot well off the loop. After making good use of the 4WD in our Suburban, we found a small flat spot in the middle of a hilly section and setup camp. Although it seemed quite remote, we were only about 5 minutes away from the Grand Canyon entrance to the North and the town of Tusayan to the South. During the day the temps got into the low 50's, but at night it got down to 8 degrees both nights we were there. It was really something to hear all the different sounds of wildlife during the evenings. We would definitely go there again.

We stayed overnight on our Western trip back on 1/2/22 and we were very pleased with how peaceful this place was.

We stayed one night and enjoyed a quiet evening after finally deciding on a good site. Before that, we manage to get stuck in a couple feet of snow after taking our truck and popup trailer close to the top of the mountain hills. Unbelievable views from up there but after seeing many large animal tracks we decided to camp closer to civilization. The only negative for us was the rough ride in because of the many jagged rocks on the path. Would stay here again.

We were on our way home from our Grand Canyon trip in early January of '21 and were only able to stay at Watchman one night (actually several hours because we had to get on our way back home) so we weren't able to do any hiking or even do much sight seeing. What a shame as what we were able to see looked simply amazing. We didn't arrive until after midnight and had to set up in the dark and in the morning, we were on the road by 8am. We will make sure to stop there and plan on staying longer the next time we get out that way.

We stayed at Chatfield State Park while visiting a Denver friend in early January and we were all quite pleased. We had neighbors on both sides but they were far enough away that things were peaceful and quiet. We had an excellent view of the nearby mountains and we saw two coyotes running past our site one morning just after we woke up. The bathrooms were clean and the pay showers were ok (although there wasn't much water pressure). The girls also said they were able to plug in their hair dryers. Our t-mobile 5G phones got 5 bars.

Breathtaking views of Mt. Whitney. A Ranger stopped by and gave us the local history as well as informing my son that the best place to fish for trout was at nearby Diaz Lake off hwy 395 just South of Lone Pine.

Wonderful place but unfortunately swamped with reservations in July. We still really enjoyed our time there.

Convenient stop for us on our way to Glacier NP. Just a parking area with a pit toilet. Beautiful surrounding area and cool to watch the dirt bikes and 4 wheelers ride around.
