We made our way to Arkansas and stayed at another COE on Lake Ouachita, Tompkins Bend Recreation Area. Very nice park with lots of shade and fishing-everyone was from Arkansas and all brought their boats...and it’s spring break here! We stayed in site C-38 on the water. Had water/electric with picnic table, grill and fire pit. Very clean, safe and nice camp hosts. Would recommend as we would stay here again!

Stayed at a COE Park- Rocky Creek in Burton, Texas on the Somerville Lake. Really nice lakeside site with electric/water hook-upset, quiet and safe! We stayed on site #57. Deer will come out in the morning and evening in the park and extensive walking trails. Not a lot to do but would recommend for peace and quiet.

We stayed at IB Magee Park in Port Aransas, Texas with about a 2 minute walk to the beach. Although we couldn’t see the beach, due to the dunes, we could hear it. The sites were close together with new level pads and full hook-ups. However, there were no picnic table or grills. Due to the freeze, bathhouse and laundry was closed so prices were $37/night and will go up to $50/night when fully opened. We would probably not stay here again as this was just a stop over after boondocking but it was packed so lots of people liked it!

Traveled to Jackson, Missouri and stayed at Trails of Tears Park. Underwhelmed with the campground but we did have electric, showers, level pad, grill and fire pit. We were in #1 site with no shade and no water and that seems to be the norm as we move further north. Easy pull thru dump station and fill-up for potable water. Right behind us was the Mississippi River but between us and the river is a train track (with approx. 35 routes/day). We went to the overlook point and swimming area but I’m not swimming in water that has to post bacterial counts daily! Nightly rounds by lawforcement. Campground was empty till the weekend, then it filled up with local folks.
Did I mention, we had a train track behind us that came by with full horns at MN, 2am and 4 am!! 🤣 #neverenoughsunsets #nationalparkchallenge

We stopped here for 1 night and had a huge site with grill, picnic table, semi-level concrete pad. Playground for kids, laundry and full-hook-ups at each site. Close to I-10. Extremely safe and fairly full for a Monday night. Folks come here to fish and boat ramp was close to our space. We loved it, only drawback is there is a local airport with instructional pilots but we enjoyed watching them (they stopped by 10 pm)

We made it near Texarkana, Texas and stayed at another COE-Rocky Point Park on the Wright Patman Dam. Another wonderful lake front site (C-10) with great views and an amazing sunset. $28/ night with picnic table, grill, prep table and fire pit. Lots of trails and boat ramp near our site. Nice camp hosts and secure. Very quiet, would recommend!

Made it to Anderson Capground, COE, outside of Nashville, TN. We stayed on site 6 Lakefront $30/night with electric and water. Huge sites with “private” beach, rock pad, fire ring, grill and picnic table. Extremely quiet. I would skip the shower area but overall nice camping!

Traveled from Shenandoah NO and then onto twisting, curvy roads to Gatewood Campground Park and Reservoir. What a great find, with no “real” amenities but level sites, picnic tables, fire pit and waterfront. A hidden gem…wish we could stay longer but we will definitely be back. Host was super nice and accommodating

We arrived and we’re pleasantly surprised to find 5-6 nice spots for any size rig. Easy access on and off I-90. Pit toilets, picnic table, grill/fire pit. Quiet night with only 3 other campers/ vehicles there and only heard the train once. I would highly recommend

We stayed here as the Denali parks were full and quite honestly Ranger said we would have some great views and we did. We backed our 30 ft Class C up to a picnic table and fire pit. Pit toilets nearby and short distance to viewing platform. It was quiet and we felt safe. 4 other rigs there and 2 larger in the parking area up front.
