We stopped here on our way to Alaska, a bit more off the beaten path than we usually stay when staying only 1 night but quiet and safe. Lots of room with picnic tables and grill/ fire pit. Road in was a bit washboard but if you take it slow it’s ok. Would recommend if your staying more than a night

We decided not to boon-dock on The Wall after bad weather was about to come in and found this place. Level sites with electric only but water and dump conveniently located. Very quiet and super nice owners would recommend for an overnight or easy access to the Badlands

Stayed at Mystic Springs Recreational area in McDavid’s Florida. About 45 miles from Pensacola and 20 minutes from I-10. Secluded, 8 sites, need to be fully contained, picnic table, fire area and grill. Many sites on the water. Our Verizon had good service. Free but you do need to reserve, not bad for a overnight stay!

$10, very convenient off I-10
Free beach camping with packed sand and easy to drive. There were several other campers and it was more crowded due to spring break. Felt safe and it did quite down after 10. Mosquitoes were out in full force as the wind wasn’t as strong so pack your bug repellent. Need to be self-contained as there is no amenities, we couldn’t even find trash dumpster so pack it in and out. Cute town with some local shops and dining. You can also rent golf carts to drive on beach. I would have like it better less crowded but we would consider coming back!

Made our way thru Tennessee and then to Bryson City, NC and camped at Grumpy Bear Campground. A riverfront semi-level site with full hook-ups, picnic table, fire pit and laundry (which we used). Bathrooms/ showers were very nice. “Tight sites” but can’t beat the view or the sound of the river behind us. We are we’re also blessed to see our the northern light phenomenon. Would definitely come back!

We stayed 3 nights at Rutherford Beach and thoroughly enjoyed it. This area has been devastated by Hurricane Laura but the beach was nice. Must be self-contained as nothing is nearby and we advise driving in during daylight as ditches on both side of roads traveling 40 miles in. We had no issues with driving on beach or tides but I would check for your rig. Mosquitoes could be a problem but it was windy while we were here. Locals are so friendly and crowds pick up on weekends with fishing and 4x4s but everything is quieted down by 10. We would definitely come back

We traveled to Magnolia Beach in Texas, one of the infamous boondocking beaches, on Wednesday. Magnolia beach is a mile and a half of hard packed sandy beach that you can drive and camp on. The tide is less than 1/2 foot daily so you can practically park in the water. Safe with local law enforcement driving through. If you park near bath houses (cold water only but do have bathrooms) there is picnic tables and grills. There were trash cans nearby. Would recommend!

We stopped here for 1 night and had a huge site with grill, picnic table, semi-level concrete pad. Playground for kids, laundry and full-hook-ups at each site. Close to I-10. Extremely safe and fairly full for a Monday night. Folks come here to fish and boat ramp was close to our space. We loved it, only drawback is there is a local airport with instructional pilots but we enjoyed watching them (they stopped by 10 pm)

We stayed at Tugaloo State Park in Lavonia, Georgia. Nice campground with electric and water at sites, easy pull through dump. Bathroom facilities were clean with laundry and camp hosts were nice. Premium sites on the water for $35. We were on site 73. Look at map as some big rigs may have issues. On Lake Hartwell, sites had nearby steps to enter water, so bring a float or boat.
