Try the pistachio gelato. Seriously. Do it.
This place is great! The sandwiches are delicious, and the tater tots are most excellent. They also have a decent selection of beer on tap and some specialty cocktails. I can't wait to go back for a drink and some tater tot poutine!
The bartenders here are awesome at what they do and they're really friendly. It was less crowded than Molly Wellman's other bars (Japps and Neon's) on a Saturday night, so the bartenders were able to give everyone excellent service. The drinks are awesome and the punch is fun and unique. It is a little on the expensive side though, so I wouldn't go all the time. But for the service and quality of the drinks it's worth it if you want to treat yo self.
A quaint haven among the mostly douchey bars and clubs of Mt. Adams. The food menu is short, but everything we tried was delicious! They also have tons of beer and wine and all of the employees were really nice and helpful.
It's beautiful and so full of history! A lovely place to take a walk. The office even has maps that are very helpful!
This is a good idea, because so many other restaurants on Vine St. serve lots of booze and decadent food there needs to be a place to get something to eat that's healthy and clean. Overall, it was just OK. My veggie panini didn't have very many vegetables on it and the honey mustard chicken wrap was bland.
This was a really interesting and beautiful place to take a walk! We stopped into the office and the people in there were super friendly and helpful! They gave us a map and showed us where some of the best monuments and most famous people were buried. And the section with all of the Civil War soldiers was very moving.
Not to be confused with Jamestown Settlement (the living history village). This is totally worth the stop. They have a building that houses a theater that shows short films, a gift shop and LOTS of great artifacts. Outside, you can see where old buildings that were part of the settlement are being excavated and YOU CAN WALK WHERE POCAHONTAS AND JOHN SMITH WALKED. So exciting!
So I get really jazzed about history and I was very excited to go to Yorktown. The visitor's center is nice. It has a theater that shows a short film that explains what happened there (it's a little dated but still educational) along with a gift shop and a few artifacts. We didn't walk around the battlefield, but Yorktown does have a touristy little district nearby with restaurants and shops.
We didn't actually pay when we went to Colonial Williamsburg, so we definitely didn't get the full experience. But even if you don't pay, you can still walk around the grounds and look at everything. It just means that there are certain areas and buildings you can't go into and the historical re-enactors won't interact with you. I really enjoyed what I saw and would LOVE to be able to go back and do it right.
