“Unique & creative neighborhood bar”
East Walnut Hills neighborhood bar with all of the creativity and uniqueness you would expect in a Molly Wellmann bar.
Love this place! More spacious than Japp's or Neon's. They've got beer on tap, which is awesome in case you're in the mood for that, but the cocktails are where it's at. You can just tell a bartender what you like and they'll make something for you! And they specialize in bowls of punch, which feels so fancy. They have two different kinds on tap, and we split one bowl of each between four people and that was enough for everyone to have a cup or two of each. It's not cheap though.
The bartenders and crowd here aren't as chill as when they first opened which is sad. But they serve food now, which I like. The punches are always tasty and come in these fun bowls with little cups, or you can just order a glass if you don't want a big ol bowl of booze. They have trivia and comedy nights and shows in the basement, which I enjoy. Although my experiences with their trivia has been hit or miss.
Finally made it to Myrtle's after learning that it's an establishment owned by the same Cincinnati legend - Molly Wellmann. Go here on the weekday for space to lounge and plenty of light upstairs. There's just one bar but they churn out punch bowls and cocktails and do it with care. I was skeptical about the punch but ordered a "boat" and tried 'em all - watch yourself for a bit of a sugary hangover. Basement is a major plus. Head in early to grab a cave-esque booth and stay as the crowd rolls in for music.
The bartenders here are awesome at what they do and they're really friendly. It was less crowded than Molly Wellman's other bars (Japps and Neon's) on a Saturday night, so the bartenders were able to give everyone excellent service. The drinks are awesome and the punch is fun and unique. It is a little on the expensive side though, so I wouldn't go all the time. But for the service and quality of the drinks it's worth it if you want to treat yo self.
