Rooms here are nice, spacious and clean, not as extravagant as others in the area but still attractively decorated. My room was right off the street which I liked, easy in and out access. It had a lovely writing desk and the bed was super comfy after a long, exhausting drive from Virginia. I found the valet service to be unnecessary and embarrassing because I had no cash to tip the valet. The courtyard was wonderful even though it was raining, so beautiful. Breakfast was delicious and the woman who prepared and served it was super sweet and helpful about my gluten intolerance. It's a bit of a walk to river street and most of the main attractions but I like walking and the city is so pretty that I found the walking to be really relaxing. There's no parking but what is available on the street but parking is free and night and I believe on weekends so it was manageable.

Lake Eola is really very pretty and it can be a nice place for a stroll, but there are a lot of homeless people about and I wouldn't recommend going there after dark.

We did a seance/hotel ghost hunt which I thought was fun. My guy thought it was a bit hokey and overpriced but I enjoyed it as a once in a lifetime kind of thing. I mean, how often do you have the opportunity to do something like that? We both loved the 20s hotel, which is home to a delicious Italian restaurant. The town itself is very beautiful and peaceful, and the bookstore has a lot of cool titles about Spiritualism, the paranormal, and occultism. Many are local as well. Schedule a reading for sure, and go in with an open mind. Folks here are sincere in their beliefs.
