“Within Walking Distance of Major Attractions”
The Eliza Thompson House is an exquisite 1847 Inn located in historic Savannah, Georgia. Known for superior service, this historic Savannah Inn is private, peaceful, and just a short walk from Savannah's best-loved historic attractions. This award-winning Inn is located on historic Jones Street, one of Savannah's most charming downtown addresses. The Inn is within walking distance to shops, antique stores, museum houses, civil war memorials, beautiful old churches and Savannah's finest restaurants. The Eliza Thompson House consists of 12 rooms in the "Main House" and 13 rooms in a "Carriage House," which overlooks the courtyard. Savannah's charm will captivate you throughout your visit, but nowhere will you be more relaxed than in The Eliza Thompson House's own private courtyard. Lush greenery and moss covered crepe myrtle trees compliment the courtyard's focal point: a flowing Ivan Bailey fountain. Japanese Koi grace a small pool at the base of the fountain, and delightful benches, table and chairs tucked into corners provide several places for you to enjoy a slow paced afternoon in Savannah. Check out the uniquely styled Garden Courtyard rooms.
Rooms here are nice, spacious and clean, not as extravagant as others in the area but still attractively decorated. My room was right off the street which I liked, easy in and out access. It had a lovely writing desk and the bed was super comfy after a long, exhausting drive from Virginia. I found the valet service to be unnecessary and embarrassing because I had no cash to tip the valet. The courtyard was wonderful even though it was raining, so beautiful. Breakfast was delicious and the woman who prepared and served it was super sweet and helpful about my gluten intolerance. It's a bit of a walk to river street and most of the main attractions but I like walking and the city is so pretty that I found the walking to be really relaxing. There's no parking but what is available on the street but parking is free and night and I believe on weekends so it was manageable.
