“A blend of historic charm and modern convenience”
Welcome to the wonderful Midland Railroad Hotel. You will find it a delightful blend of historic charm and modern convenience--a place welcoming weary travelers and comfort seekers for over 100 years. When the Midland Railroad Hotel was built in 1899, it was the most magnificent facility in the Midwest, with 28 wonderfully appointed rooms. The Midland Railroad Hotel continues that tradition today, with every room completed renovated and restored back to its original glory, complete with tasteful decor and mission style furnishings. The Midland Railroad Hotel is on the National Register of Historic Places and has won the Kansas Preservation Award for the careful attention given to detail while restoring the facility back to its original state. The trains that once took travelers to the historic hotel are still in operation, with railroad cars passing through this community several times each day--making for an even more memorable experience as you step back into time. Tuesday through Saturday the Sample Room Tavern is open from 5 pm to 9 pm. Friday and Saturday come in for dinner or to have a drink in our relaxing Sample Room Tavern from 5 pm to 9 pm or from 5 pm to 10 pm Friday and Saturday. The Sample Room Tavern is open later on Friday's and Saturday's. As a new addition to our Sample Room Tavern, the Midland Railroad Hotel and Restaurant added a game room with pool, darts, and many other fun games. Come in and relax and have a drink in our fun new game room. There will be free pool on Tuesdays and Wednesdays!
Grest stop for travelers, stores are close by and it's is a quite friendly town.
Cute historic town. Beautiful building. It won awards for being restored with such authenticity. We walk in the lobby and the first thing we see, dominating thousands of hours of restoration, is huge hanging painted blue canvases with stars and moons painted on it. It made us not stay there or eat there.
Stopped only to sleep for our long journey home. Pleasantly surprised for a hotel in the middle of nowhere. It was very clean the staff was helpful they served breakfast and the room was comfortable. If in the area I would stay again.
Excellent little hotel. Beautifully up kept hospice building, and the staff was extremely nice. From beginning to end, an excellent experience.
I stopped at a time of big transition- the staff explained that the Hotel was under new management as of just a few days ago, so none of the quick stop services were available. It was a beautiful old hotel and I look forward to staying there sometime. Very very nice staff.
