“Rustic Wild Charm!”
A sprawling 60 acre ocean front inn on the northern tip of the Mendocino Coast. Owned and operated by Sally and Sunny Grigg for 39 years, with many more to come. Pacific Coast beaches, Scenic California Highway One, Redwoods, Farm life, Historic Architecture, nature, flower gardens, a full ranch breakfast, onsite hiking - all combined with generous hospitality, make Howard Creek Ranch special. Howard Creek Ranch Inn is an historic, 60 acre, ocean front farm; bordered by miles of beach and mountains on the beautiful Mendocino Coast. We are a family owned and run business. Charles (Sunny) and Sally have been working on the Howard Creek Ranch for the last 20 years, and will probably be working on it for the next 20 years. Howard Creek Ranch is a Mendocino County Registered Historic Site nominated to the Federal Register of Historic Places.
This was a total gem of a find. The owners (Sally and Sunny) are, ahem, quite eccentric. They met here in the 70's when the Howard Creek Ranch was a "hippie commune" (Sunny's words). The rooms make you feel like you are staying at your grandma's house - complete with shelves and shelves of knickknacks. Breakfast was nearly gourmet with cinnamon poached pears, sweet biscuits, sausage, and a mexican frittata. Bring your hiking books and walk the grounds filled with rabbits, sheep, goats, and chickens (OH SO MANY CHICKENS).
