Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on January 28, 2024Troutdale is a tiny town in the Portland area, halfway Portland downtown and Multnomah waterfalls. Even though at the end of September the season should dwindle down, the camping is close to full every night. We get a very warm welcome, the reception is great. Wifi is pretty ok, laundry and bathrooms are clean. On Sunday there is a free breakfast with waffles, bacon and eggs.
The big round bulb lanterns give a lot of light at night, but also take away the excitement of camping a little bit. We find that a lot of the campers stay here fulltime.

They are at the top of our price range for sure but its such an easy park to use while exploring the Columbia River Gorge. There really isn't anything else around.
The lady in the office was nice but to the point about everything. The bulldog Daphne was a big hit with my kids!
We didn't get in the creek but you can if you want to. We saw a lot of other people doing it at the public access points across the creek.
Sites were level but pretty close together and most lived there full time. No room to put our awning out but we weren't there for long so that was fine.
They did have a little basketball court that my kids loved and a nice laundry facility that you have to buy tokens for.
Overall, pretty nice park!

Riverfront is a joke. The only river front sites I saw were rented out to what looked like monthly with all the crap around them. This is a concrete slab like parking lot. So called putting green is worn out. Everything was run down and we couldn't wait to leave. We had scheduled two nights but left for a nicer place.
They were kind enough to refund us for the second night though and staff was friendly. Seems that the owners are the ones that need a kick in the butt. Wont be going back there and you should avoid it unless you are strictly there to visit Troutdale.
On traveling too this place go through town and don't follow Google. There is a one lane breidge and not sure of the clearance if you come in along the river.

Only complaint is the noise. Near a railroad, road to a state park (filled with the typical yahwhos driving small cars with loud mufflers), and the flight patterns of a couple of nearby small airports. Did not use restrooms. Laundry was nice. Reservation process and interaction with front desk staff was a bit odd. Very good access to Portland area and Columbia River Gorge. We have stayed here twice now, and if you can manage the ambient noise, it's a nice park.

We have stayed here pre-pandemic when the price was in the 30s. Not sure why the price hike, nothing new here.
Most sites are in parking-lot like rows but we were lucky enough to get a river view (101) for the first 3 nights. We needed to extend our stay by one night so we had to move to site 190. We’re glad they were able to accommodate us.
That being said, there are a couple of issues that caused me to lower the rating:
1) bathhouse is only open 8am- 12pm
2) sprinklers came on at 11 am just when we were disconnecting to leave so everything got soaked
3) laundry room takes special tokens that you can only get from the main office. (Hours available after 11:00 am)

Make sure you follow the resort's directions. We were right next to town which was nice in a pull thru spot. It was nice and level and we had plenty of room to hang out. We were close for a day trip to see Portland and another day trip to the Hood River Valley.

Concrete pads. Sites are close together but ok. Big rig friendly. Very convenient to explore Columbia River waterfalls, Mount Hood/Fruit Loop, Portland. Quiet setting.

Sites are tight without privacy hedges but people were luckily respectful and abused by quiet hours. Dumpster was close . Cell service was great.

{Dates Stayed: April 25-27, 2023} DO NOT FOLLOW GPS ONLY FOLLOW CG DIRECTIONS! The original entrance is the first driveway off the Columbia River Highway and is too narrow and the bridge is not suited for newer heavy rigs. It is ok for walking up to downtown. Entrance/Exit is around the curve to the second left-turn driveway. (If you happen to come from NE Jordan Rd turning right on E Historic Columbia River Hwy, across Sandy River then a right turn into driveway.) Once in the park beware of large potholes & chunks of asphalt on all the drives (unless they've fixed them!). The sites are paved/concrete but could use some sealer. Sites had grass and were ok between neighbors-but could be a bit wider. The laundry uses Dexter stainless steel commercial washers & dryers, unfortunately when we were there many dryers were OOS. Lots of rules about parking, guests, etc. Troutdale is a nice walk uphill and the outlet mall is just beyond towards I-84. There is a railroad and state park nearby but the noise is not too bad depending on the time of year. Summer could be noisy with the SP so close.

Beautiful park right on the river. Level pad’s, clean restrooms and laundry area. Staff was awesome to deal with to make the reservation and friendly in person. The train bridge over the river is right behind the park so there is train noise.
