For those quiet moments indoors you will find cozy nooks for reading, conversation or contemplation. Outdoors, stroll the peaceful paths or relax on the deck breathing the fresh mountain air.  Wildlife is a common sight. Chipmunks, squirrrels, raccoon and deer roam the grounds freely. Many birds, eagles, osprey, hawks, ducks, geese, herons, woodpeckers, and kingfishers nestle in the firs.  The lodge sits on a bluff about 60 feet above the Sandy River and the Salmon River where they merge in a maze of rapids and whitewater. Enjoy 700 feet of river frontage view. The surroundings are mostly wooded with large fir trees; however, there are also maple, cedar, cottonwood, hemlock and alder.
