“Drug Store for over 75 years”
Drop into the past at the Potwin Drug Store where you can still order a cherry phosphate from the soda fountain. The drugstore that resided at S.W. 5th and Washburn for 75 years has been recreated in the city’s Old Prairie Town at Ward Meade Historic Site using original fixtures from the Potwin store, including the beautiful walnut cabinets and pharmacist’s counter. Starting April 1, 2009, the drug store is dropping its soup and sandwich menu and focusing on its drinks, ice cream and candy. Look for extended hours in June, July and August when the shop will stay open until 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
CLOSED ON MONDAYS November-February. Looks very cute from the outside...
