The Topeka Zoo

Just went there. It is a small break from traveling. It is very clean and nicely laid out. There is a lot of shade and it is easy walking for children.

Loved this zoo. It's location is a perfect day trip with the park nearby as well as a small waterpark.

This zoo is anything short of amazing! It's perfectly located in Gage Park which is nice since it's only 5.75 for entry plus they allow the option to round up your purchase at the gate so the rest can be donated to conservation efforts! It's a small zoo so a walk through is typically an hour or two but it was really nice being able to see some of the zoo keepers in action cleaning yards, feeding, participating in keeper chats, and most of all educating the public on the animals themselves. This is a small AZA approved facility with a big zoo spirit! All the animals looked happy and healthy, a number one goal to see in zoos everywhere. plus the three tiger cubs and their mother are always a hoot to watch!
